The gene product is a component of a multimeric protein complex that contains EDR2 and the vertebrate Polycomb protein BMH1. The gene product, the EDR2 protein, and the Drosophila polyhomeotic protein share 2 highly conserved domains, named homology domains I and II. These domains are involved in protein-protein interactions and may mediate heterodimerization of the protein encoded by this gene and the EDR2 protein. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]. * **UniProt Summary**: Component of a Polycomb group (PcG) multiprotein PRC1- like complex, a complex class required to maintain the transcriptionally repressive state of many genes, including Hox genes, throughout development. PcG PRC1 complex acts via chromatin remodeling and modification of histones; it mediates monoubiquitination of histone H2A 'Lys-119', rendering chromatin heritably changed in its expressibility. Required for proper control of cellular levels of GMNN expression. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:23418308}. |SAM 1| |SAM 2| |PRC1 complex| |PcG protein complex| |negative regulation of G0 to G1 transition| |histone ubiquitination| |regulation of G0 to G1 transition| |negative regulation of cell cycle process| |histone modification| |covalent chromatin modification| |negative regulation of cell cycle| |protein ubiquitination| |chromatin organization| |regulation of cell cycle process| |protein modification by small protein conjugation| |zinc ion binding| |protein modification by small protein conjugation or removal| |chromosome organization| |regulation of cell cycle| |DNA binding| \\ === CRISPR Data === ^Screen^Score^ |VER-155008 3.9μM R06 exp301|-1.97| |UMK57 1μM R01 exp59|-1.84| |CCT251545 0.2μM R06 exp271|-1.75| |Resveratrol 16μM R03 exp147|-1.73| |Benzoate 20000μM R08 exp456|1.94| |Rucaparib 6.5μM R08 exp520|2.65| No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics.
