The calcium-binding protein has phosphatidylinositol (PI) transfer activity and interacts with the protein tyrosine kinase PTK2B (also known as PYK2). The protein is homologous to a Drosophila protein that is implicated in the visual transduction pathway in flies. Mutations in this gene result in autosomal dominant cone dystrophy. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, Sep 2009]. * **UniProt Summary**: Catalyzes the transfer of phosphatidylinositol and phosphatidylcholine between membranes (in vitro) (By similarity). Binds calcium ions. {ECO:0000250}. |LNS2| |DDHD| |phospholipase activity| |COPII-coated ER to Golgi transport vesicle| |receptor tyrosine kinase binding| |cell body| |endomembrane system| |cell projection| |phosphatidylinositol biosynthetic process| |lipid binding| |phosphatidylinositol metabolic process| |glycerophospholipid biosynthetic process| |endoplasmic reticulum to Golgi vesicle-mediated transport| |glycerolipid biosynthetic process| |phospholipid biosynthetic process| |glycerophospholipid metabolic process| |Golgi vesicle transport| |phospholipid metabolic process| |glycerolipid metabolic process| |organophosphate biosynthetic process| |lipid biosynthetic process| |calcium ion binding| |organophosphate metabolic process| |cellular lipid metabolic process| |lipid metabolic process| |intracellular transport| |establishment of localization in cell| |vesicle-mediated transport| |membrane| \\ === CRISPR Data === ^Screen^Score^ |GSK-J4 1.5μM R08 exp441|-1.93| |Glyphosate 1000μM R06 exp283|-1.8| |Tunicamycin 0.04 to 0.125μM on day4 R07 exp420|1.74| ^Gene^Correlation^ |COPE|0.428| |CDC73|0.415| Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 0/739 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|0/1| |909776.0|0/1| |bile duct|0/28| |blood|0/28| |bone|0/26| |breast|0/33| |central nervous system|0/56| |cervix|0/4| |colorectal|0/17| |esophagus|0/13| |fibroblast|0/1| |gastric|0/16| |kidney|0/21| |liver|0/20| |lung|0/75| |lymphocyte|0/16| |ovary|0/26| |pancreas|0/24| |peripheral nervous system|0/16| |plasma cell|0/15| |prostate|0/1| |skin|0/24| |soft tissue|0/9| |thyroid|0/2| |upper aerodigestive|0/22| |urinary tract|0/29| |uterus|0/5| == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **Essentiality Rank**: 2318 * **Expression level (log2 read counts)**: 2.08
