Can reduce H(2)O(2) and short chain organic, fatty acid, and phospholipid hydroperoxides. Also has phospholipase activity, and can therefore either reduce the oxidized sn-2 fatty acyl grup of phospholipids (peroxidase activity) or hydrolyze the sn-2 ester bond of phospholipids (phospholipase activity). These activities are dependent on binding to phospholipids at acidic pH and to oxidized phospholipds at cytosolic pH. Plays a role in cell protection against oxidative stress by detoxifying peroxides and in phospholipid homeostasis. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:10893423, ECO:0000269|PubMed:9497358}. |1-cysPrx C| |Redoxin| |AhpC-TSA| |peroxiredoxin activity| |calcium-independent phospholipase A2 activity| |positive regulation of mRNA splicing, via spliceosome| |glutathione peroxidase activity| |glycerophospholipid catabolic process| |phospholipase A2 activity (consuming 1,2-dipalmitoylphosphatidylcholine)| |phospholipase A2 activity consuming 1,2-dioleoylphosphatidylethanolamine)| |hydrogen peroxide catabolic process| |positive regulation of mRNA processing| |peroxidase activity| |positive regulation of RNA splicing| |phospholipid catabolic process| |hydrogen peroxide metabolic process| |antibiotic catabolic process| |glycerolipid catabolic process| |cofactor catabolic process| |cell redox homeostasis| |positive regulation of mRNA metabolic process| |azurophil granule lumen| |cellular oxidant detoxification| |regulation of mRNA splicing, via spliceosome| |cellular detoxification| |antibiotic metabolic process| |reactive oxygen species metabolic process| |detoxification| |organophosphate catabolic process| |regulation of RNA splicing| |regulation of mRNA processing| |drug catabolic process| |cellular lipid catabolic process| |cellular response to toxic substance| |cellular response to oxidative stress| |ubiquitin protein ligase binding| |lipid catabolic process| |glycerophospholipid metabolic process| |cadherin binding| |regulation of mRNA metabolic process| |phospholipid metabolic process| |glycerolipid metabolic process| |response to oxidative stress| |cofactor metabolic process| |neutrophil degranulation| |neutrophil activation involved in immune response| |neutrophil mediated immunity| |drug metabolic process| |neutrophil activation| |granulocyte activation| |response to toxic substance| |leukocyte degranulation| |myeloid leukocyte mediated immunity| |myeloid cell activation involved in immune response| |myeloid leukocyte activation| |leukocyte activation involved in immune response| |cell activation involved in immune response| |perinuclear region of cytoplasm| |regulated exocytosis| |leukocyte mediated immunity| |exocytosis| |protein homodimerization activity| |organophosphate metabolic process| |cellular homeostasis| |leukocyte activation| |cellular lipid metabolic process| |oxidation-reduction process| |secretion by cell| |export from cell| |cell activation| |immune effector process| |secretion| |lipid metabolic process| |extracellular space| |homeostatic process| |cellular response to stress| |positive regulation of RNA metabolic process| |organic substance catabolic process| |cellular catabolic process| |immune response| |positive regulation of nucleobase-containing compound metabolic process| |extracellular region| |vesicle-mediated transport| |positive regulation of gene expression| |membrane| \\ === CRISPR Data === ^Screen^Score^ |Epigallocatechin gallate 20μM R05 exp230|-3.18| |Demecolcine 0.03μM R05 exp228|-1.85| |THZ531 0.225μM R08 exp444|-1.71| |All-trans-Retinoic-Acid 40μM R07 exp334|1.79| ^Gene^Correlation^ |HGC6.3|0.554| Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 0/739 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|0/1| |909776.0|0/1| |bile duct|0/28| |blood|0/28| |bone|0/26| |breast|0/33| |central nervous system|0/56| |cervix|0/4| |colorectal|0/17| |esophagus|0/13| |fibroblast|0/1| |gastric|0/16| |kidney|0/21| |liver|0/20| |lung|0/75| |lymphocyte|0/16| |ovary|0/26| |pancreas|0/24| |peripheral nervous system|0/16| |plasma cell|0/15| |prostate|0/1| |skin|0/24| |soft tissue|0/9| |thyroid|0/2| |upper aerodigestive|0/22| |urinary tract|0/29| |uterus|0/5| == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **Essentiality Rank**: 18430 * **Expression level (log2 read counts)**: 6.68
