This gene encodes an RNA binding protein that is thought to be a key regulator of alternative exon splicing in the nervous system and other cell types. The protein binds to a conserved UGCAUG element found downstream of many alternatively spliced exons and promotes inclusion of the alternative exon in mature transcripts. The protein also interacts with the estrogen receptor 1 transcription factor and regulates estrogen receptor 1 transcriptional activity. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]. COMPLETENESS: complete on the 3' end. * **UniProt Summary**: N/A |Fox-1 C| |RRM 1| |regulation of definitive erythrocyte differentiation| |radial glia guided migration of Purkinje cell| |hindbrain radial glia guided cell migration| |cell migration in hindbrain| |intracellular estrogen receptor signaling pathway| |regulation of erythrocyte differentiation| |neuromuscular process controlling balance| |dendrite morphogenesis| |regulation of alternative mRNA splicing, via spliceosome| |intracellular steroid hormone receptor signaling pathway| |fibroblast growth factor receptor signaling pathway| |regulation of mRNA splicing, via spliceosome| |dendrite development| |neuromuscular process| |cellular response to fibroblast growth factor stimulus| |response to fibroblast growth factor| |steroid hormone mediated signaling pathway| |regulation of RNA splicing| |regulation of mRNA processing| |hindbrain development| |mRNA binding| |intracellular receptor signaling pathway| |hormone-mediated signaling pathway| |cellular response to steroid hormone stimulus| |regulation of myeloid cell differentiation| |transcription corepressor activity| |response to steroid hormone| |regulation of mRNA metabolic process| |transcription factor binding| |RNA splicing| |cell morphogenesis involved in neuron differentiation| |regulation of hemopoiesis| |mRNA processing| |neuron projection morphogenesis| |plasma membrane bounded cell projection morphogenesis| |cell projection morphogenesis| |cellular response to growth factor stimulus| |transmembrane receptor protein tyrosine kinase signaling pathway| |cell part morphogenesis| |cellular response to lipid| |response to growth factor| |cellular response to organic cyclic compound| |cell morphogenesis involved in differentiation| |cellular response to hormone stimulus| |neuron projection development| |mRNA metabolic process| |enzyme linked receptor protein signaling pathway| |cell morphogenesis| |brain development| |head development| |neuron development| |cellular component morphogenesis| |response to lipid| |RNA processing| |response to hormone| |response to organic cyclic compound| |cell migration| |central nervous system development| |neuron differentiation| |localization of cell| |cell motility| |plasma membrane bounded cell projection organization| |cell projection organization| |negative regulation of transcription, DNA-templated| |cellular response to endogenous stimulus| |negative regulation of nucleic acid-templated transcription| |negative regulation of RNA biosynthetic process| |locomotion| |negative regulation of RNA metabolic process| |nervous system process| |negative regulation of cellular macromolecule biosynthetic process| |RNA binding| |negative regulation of nucleobase-containing compound metabolic process| |negative regulation of macromolecule biosynthetic process| |response to endogenous stimulus| |negative regulation of cellular biosynthetic process| |generation of neurons| |negative regulation of biosynthetic process| |movement of cell or subcellular component| |regulation of cell population proliferation| |neurogenesis| |cell development| |regulation of immune system process| |RNA metabolic process| |negative regulation of gene expression| |regulation of cell differentiation| |system process| |gene expression| \\ === CRISPR Data === ^Screen^Score^ |Dinaciclib 0.007μM R07 exp355|-1.79| |Bisphenol F 50μM R08 exp457|1.71| |UM0129480 7μM R02 exp85|1.74| No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics.
