The protein encoded by this gene is a type I integral membrane protein with tyrosine kinase activity. The protein may function as a growth or differentiation factor receptor. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]. * **UniProt Summary**: Orphan receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK) that plays a role in epithelial cell differentiation and regionalization of the proximal epididymal epithelium. May activate several downstream signaling pathways related to cell differentiation, proliferation, growth and survival including the PI3 kinase-mTOR signaling pathway. Mediates the phosphorylation of PTPN11, an activator of this pathway. May also phosphorylate and activate the transcription factor STAT3 to control anchorage-independent cell growth. Mediates the phosphorylation and the activation of VAV3, a guanine nucleotide exchange factor regulating cell morphology. May activate other downstream signaling proteins including AKT1, MAPK1, MAPK3, IRS1 and PLCG2. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:11094073, ECO:0000269|PubMed:16885344}. |fn3| |Pkinase| |Pkinase Tyr| |regulation of phosphate transport| |peptidyl-tyrosine autophosphorylation| |columnar/cuboidal epithelial cell development| |transmembrane receptor protein tyrosine kinase activity| |protein phosphatase binding| |protein tyrosine kinase activity| |regulation of anion transport| |columnar/cuboidal epithelial cell differentiation| |regulation of TOR signaling| |peptidyl-tyrosine phosphorylation| |peptidyl-tyrosine modification| |epithelial cell development| |protein autophosphorylation| |receptor complex| |regulation of ERK1 and ERK2 cascade| |signal transduction by protein phosphorylation| |regulation of cell growth| |transmembrane receptor protein tyrosine kinase signaling pathway| |spermatogenesis| |cell population proliferation| |male gamete generation| |cell surface| |regulation of growth| |epithelial cell differentiation| |gamete generation| |perinuclear region of cytoplasm| |regulation of ion transport| |enzyme linked receptor protein signaling pathway| |regulation of MAPK cascade| |multicellular organismal reproductive process| |sexual reproduction| |multicellular organism reproduction| |peptidyl-amino acid modification| |protein phosphorylation| |multi-organism reproductive process| |epithelium development| |phosphorylation| |integral component of plasma membrane| |reproductive process| |reproduction| |regulation of protein phosphorylation| |ATP binding| |regulation of phosphorylation| |cell development| |negative regulation of gene expression| |tissue development| |regulation of phosphate metabolic process| |regulation of phosphorus metabolic process| |regulation of intracellular signal transduction| |regulation of protein modification process| |regulation of transport| |membrane| \\ === CRISPR Data === No hits were found.
