The first is the hydrolysis of an alpha-linked peptide bond at the C-terminal end of the small ubiquitin-like modifier (SUMO) propeptides, SUMO1, SUMO2 and SUMO3 leading to the mature form of the proteins. The second is the deconjugation of SUMO1, SUMO2 and SUMO3 from targeted proteins, by cleaving an epsilon-linked peptide bond between the C-terminal glycine of the mature SUMO and the lysine epsilon-amino group of the target protein. May down-regulate CTNNB1 levels and thereby modulate the Wnt pathway. Deconjugates SUMO2 from MTA1. Plays a dynamic role in adipogenesis by desumoylating and promoting the stabilization of CEBPB (PubMed:20194620). {ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:Q91ZX6, ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:Q9EQE1, ECO:0000269|PubMed:11896061, ECO:0000269|PubMed:12192048, ECO:0000269|PubMed:20194620, ECO:0000269|PubMed:21965678}. |Peptidase C48| |SUMO-specific isopeptidase activity| |SUMO-specific endopeptidase activity| |protein desumoylation| |negative regulation of chromatin binding| |regulation of DNA endoreduplication| |spongiotrophoblast layer development| |dorsal/ventral axis specification| |trophoblast giant cell differentiation| |regulation of chromatin binding| |cell differentiation involved in embryonic placenta development| |labyrinthine layer development| |protein destabilization| |regulation of DNA-dependent DNA replication| |protein sumoylation| |nuclear pore| |negative regulation of protein ubiquitination| |dorsal/ventral pattern formation| |negative regulation of protein modification by small protein conjugation or removal| |axis specification| |embryonic placenta development| |PML body| |negative regulation of protein binding| |fat cell differentiation| |regulation of DNA replication| |positive regulation of protein ubiquitination| |positive regulation of protein modification by small protein conjugation or removal| |regulation of G1/S transition of mitotic cell cycle| |placenta development| |mRNA transport| |regulation of cell cycle G1/S phase transition| |negative regulation of binding| |RNA transport| |nucleic acid transport| |establishment of RNA localization| |regulation of protein ubiquitination| |RNA localization| |regulation of protein binding| |regulation of protein modification by small protein conjugation or removal| |nuclear membrane| |nucleobase-containing compound transport| |protein domain specific binding| |regulation of protein stability| |protein modification by small protein removal| |peptidyl-lysine modification| |regionalization| |Wnt signaling pathway| |cell-cell signaling by wnt| |regulation of Wnt signaling pathway| |regulation of binding| |in utero embryonic development| |regulation of mitotic cell cycle phase transition| |reproductive structure development| |cell surface receptor signaling pathway involved in cell-cell signaling| |reproductive system development| |embryonic organ development| |pattern specification process| |regulation of cell cycle phase transition| |heart development| |negative regulation of protein modification process| |regulation of mitotic cell cycle| |chordate embryonic development| |embryo development ending in birth or egg hatching| |developmental process involved in reproduction| |regulation of cell cycle process| |protein modification by small protein conjugation| |circulatory system development| |peptidyl-amino acid modification| |embryo development| |protein modification by small protein conjugation or removal| |positive regulation of protein phosphorylation| |negative regulation of cellular protein metabolic process| |positive regulation of phosphorylation| |negative regulation of protein metabolic process| |cell-cell signaling| |positive regulation of phosphate metabolic process| |positive regulation of phosphorus metabolic process| |negative regulation of molecular function| |regulation of cell cycle| |positive regulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II| |positive regulation of protein modification process| |proteolysis| |reproductive process| |reproduction| |regulation of protein phosphorylation| |protein transport| |peptide transport| |positive regulation of transcription, DNA-templated| |amide transport| |regulation of phosphorylation| |positive regulation of cellular protein metabolic process| |establishment of protein localization| |positive regulation of nucleic acid-templated transcription| |positive regulation of RNA biosynthetic process| |positive regulation of protein metabolic process| |positive regulation of RNA metabolic process| |tissue development| |regulation of phosphate metabolic process| |regulation of phosphorus metabolic process| |regulation of protein modification process| |nitrogen compound transport| |positive regulation of nucleobase-containing compound metabolic process| |positive regulation of macromolecule biosynthetic process| |positive regulation of cellular biosynthetic process| |positive regulation of gene expression| |positive regulation of biosynthetic process| \\ === CRISPR Data === ^Screen^Score^ |Salinomycin 3.5μM R08 exp521|-1.85| |Dorsomorphin 5μM R07 exp357|1.74| |Lapatinib 5μM R01 exp47|1.76| |MK2206 4μM R08 exp504|1.92| No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics.
