The encoded protein contains a Myb DNA-binding domain, and is essential for RNA polymerase II and III polymerase transcription from small nuclear RNA promoters. A mutation in this gene is associated with ankylosing spondylitis. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2016]. * **UniProt Summary**: Part of the SNAPc complex required for the transcription of both RNA polymerase II and III small-nuclear RNA genes. Binds to the proximal sequence element (PSE), a non-TATA-box basal promoter element common to these 2 types of genes. Recruits TBP and BRF2 to the U6 snRNA TATA box. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:12621023, ECO:0000269|PubMed:9418884}. |Myb DNA-binding| |snRNA-activating protein complex| |snRNA transcription by RNA polymerase III| |transcription by RNA polymerase III| |snRNA transcription by RNA polymerase II| |snRNA transcription| |ncRNA transcription| |transcription by RNA polymerase II| |transcription, DNA-templated| |nucleic acid-templated transcription| |RNA biosynthetic process| |DNA-binding transcription factor activity| |nucleobase-containing compound biosynthetic process| |heterocycle biosynthetic process| |aromatic compound biosynthetic process| |organic cyclic compound biosynthetic process| |DNA binding| |DNA-binding transcription factor activity, RNA polymerase II-specific| |cellular nitrogen compound biosynthetic process| |RNA metabolic process| |cellular macromolecule biosynthetic process| |macromolecule biosynthetic process| |gene expression| \\ === CRISPR Data === ^Screen^Score^ |CoCl2 18μM R07 exp346|-1.96| |∆-9-Tetrahydrocannabinol 30μM R08 exp445|-1.86| |Artemisinin 50μM R08 exp450|-1.79| |2-Deoxy-D-glucose 800μM R05 exp214|-1.73| |UM131593 0.1μM R01 exp58|1.7| |Lead acetate 2000μM R08 exp497|2.17| |iCRT14 30μM R08 exp492|2.19| |Vitamin-D3 40μM R08 exp536|2.48| No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics.
