The encoded protein is interferon-inducible and is expressed at high levels in the nuclei of leukocytes. Variants of this gene have been associated with multiple sclerosis, Crohn's disease, and chronic lymphocytic leukemia. Alternative splicing results in multiple variants. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2016]. * **UniProt Summary**: Component of the nuclear body, also known as nuclear domain 10, PML oncogenic domain, and KR body (PubMed:8910577). May be involved in the pathogenesis of acute promyelocytic leukemia and viral infection (PubMed:8910577). May play a role in chromatin-mediated regulation of gene expression although it does not bind to histone H3 tails (PubMed:24267382). {ECO:0000269|PubMed:24267382, ECO:0000269|PubMed:8910577, ECO:0000303|PubMed:8910577}. |SAND| |PHD| |Sp100| |Bromodomain| |PML body| |fibrillar center| |nuclear envelope| |DNA-binding transcription factor activity| |mitochondrion| |defense response| |DNA binding| \\ === CRISPR Data === ^Screen^Score^ |L-74142 5μM R03 exp131|-1.81| |HMS-I2 1μM R06 exp286|-1.7| |A-196 10μM R03 exp114|1.7| |CB-839 10μM R05 exp224|1.74| |Actinomycin-D 0.001μM R00 exp3|1.76| |Cycloheximide 0.02μM R00 exp14|1.8| No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics.
