The interaction with CD4 is mediated by the noncatalytic alpha/beta hydrolase fold domain of this protein. It is thus proposed that this gene product modulates the stimulatory activity of CD4. Mutations in this gene are associated with autosomal recessive spastic paraplegia 21 (SPG21), also known as mast syndrome. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2014]. * **UniProt Summary**: May play a role as a negative regulatory factor in CD4- dependent T-cell activation. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:11113139}. |Abhydrolase 1| |Abhydrolase 5| |Abhydrolase 6| |CD4 receptor binding| |trans-Golgi network transport vesicle| |endosome membrane| |antigen receptor-mediated signaling pathway| |immune response-activating cell surface receptor signaling pathway| |immune response-regulating cell surface receptor signaling pathway| |immune response-activating signal transduction| |immune response-regulating signaling pathway| |activation of immune response| |intracellular membrane-bounded organelle| |positive regulation of immune response| |Golgi apparatus| |positive regulation of immune system process| |regulation of immune response| |regulation of immune system process| \\ === CRISPR Data === ^Screen^Score^ |HMS-I2 5μM R06 exp287|-1.94| |SGC0946 7μM R03 exp151|-1.72| |Thimerosal 0.85μM R08 exp529|1.77| |UM0125461 0.74μM R02 exp84|1.85| |Lead acetate 2000μM R08 exp498 no dilution day6|1.86| |Bortezomib 0.005μM R00 exp6|1.91| |Monensin 0.3μM R08 exp507|2.32| |Vincristine 0.0005μM R04 exp190|2.35| |GSK461364A 0.1μM R03 exp126|2.47| No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics.
