The encoded protein is an inhibitor of the receptor-transduced mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling pathway. Activity of this protein impairs the formation of active GTP-RAS. Nucleotide variation in this gene has been associated with hypogonadotropic hypogonadism 17 with or without anosmia. Alternative splicing results in a multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2014]. * **UniProt Summary**: Suppresses the insulin receptor and EGFR-transduced MAPK signaling pathway, but does not inhibit MAPK activation by a constitutively active mutant Ras. Probably impairs the formation of GTP-Ras. Inhibits Ras-independent, but not Ras-dependent, activation of RAF1. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:12717443}. |Sprouty| |negative regulation of fibroblast growth factor receptor signaling pathway| |regulation of fibroblast growth factor receptor signaling pathway| |negative regulation of Ras protein signal transduction| |negative regulation of small GTPase mediated signal transduction| |negative regulation of ERK1 and ERK2 cascade| |negative regulation of MAP kinase activity| |ruffle membrane| |negative regulation of protein serine/threonine kinase activity| |negative regulation of cellular response to growth factor stimulus| |negative regulation of MAPK cascade| |negative regulation of protein kinase activity| |regulation of Ras protein signal transduction| |negative regulation of kinase activity| |regulation of cellular response to growth factor stimulus| |negative regulation of transferase activity| |regulation of ERK1 and ERK2 cascade| |regulation of MAP kinase activity| |regulation of small GTPase mediated signal transduction| |negative regulation of protein phosphorylation| |focal adhesion| |negative regulation of phosphorylation| |negative regulation of intracellular signal transduction| |regulation of protein serine/threonine kinase activity| |negative regulation of phosphate metabolic process| |negative regulation of phosphorus metabolic process| |negative regulation of protein modification process| |regulation of MAPK cascade| |negative regulation of catalytic activity| |regulation of protein kinase activity| |regulation of kinase activity| |regulation of transferase activity| |negative regulation of cellular protein metabolic process| |negative regulation of protein metabolic process| |negative regulation of molecular function| |negative regulation of signal transduction| |negative regulation of cell communication| |negative regulation of signaling| |regulation of protein phosphorylation| |regulation of phosphorylation| |negative regulation of response to stimulus| |regulation of phosphate metabolic process| |regulation of phosphorus metabolic process| |regulation of intracellular signal transduction| |regulation of protein modification process| \\ === CRISPR Data === No hits were found.
