A highly similar protein has been shown to play a role in muscle development in mice. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2009]. * **UniProt Summary**: Serine/arginine-rich protein-specific kinase which specifically phosphorylates its substrates at serine residues located in regions rich in arginine/serine dipeptides, known as RS domains. Phosphorylates the SR splicing factor SRSF1 and the lamin-B receptor (LBR) in vitro. Required for normal muscle development (By similarity). {ECO:0000250}. |Pkinase Tyr| |Pkinase| |spliceosomal complex assembly| |skeletal muscle tissue development| |skeletal muscle organ development| |regulation of mRNA processing| |ribonucleoprotein complex assembly| |ribonucleoprotein complex subunit organization| |striated muscle tissue development| |muscle organ development| |muscle tissue development| |RNA splicing, via transesterification reactions with bulged adenosine as nucleophile| |mRNA splicing, via spliceosome| |RNA splicing, via transesterification reactions| |regulation of mRNA metabolic process| |protein serine/threonine kinase activity| |RNA splicing| |cellular component| |ribonucleoprotein complex biogenesis| |muscle structure development| |mRNA processing| |mRNA metabolic process| |cellular protein-containing complex assembly| |RNA processing| |protein phosphorylation| |phosphorylation| |ATP binding| |protein-containing complex assembly| |RNA metabolic process| |intracellular signal transduction| |tissue development| |protein-containing complex subunit organization| |gene expression| \\ === CRISPR Data === ^Screen^Score^ |Pimelic-diphenylamide-106 5μM R00 exp28|-1.97| |DABN racemic mixture R03 exp93|-1.96| |5-Fluorouracil 20μM R00 exp2|-1.79| |Campthothecin 0.001μM R06 exp270|1.99| No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics.
