Titin is a giant elastic protein with kinase activity that extends half the length of a sarcomere. It serves as a scaffold to which myofibrils and other muscle related proteins are attached. This gene encodes a protein found in striated and cardiac muscle that binds to the titin Z1-Z2 domains and is a substrate of titin kinase, interactions thought to be critical to sarcomere assembly. Mutations in this gene are associated with limb-girdle muscular dystrophy type 2G. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]. * **UniProt Summary**: Muscle assembly regulating factor. Mediates the antiparallel assembly of titin (TTN) molecules at the sarcomeric Z-disk. |Telethonin| |titin Z domain binding| |sarcomerogenesis| |detection of muscle stretch| |FATZ binding| |otic vesicle formation| |otic vesicle morphogenesis| |striated muscle myosin thick filament assembly| |skeletal muscle myosin thick filament assembly| |BMP binding| |myosin filament organization| |myosin filament assembly| |cardiac muscle adaptation| |skeletal muscle thin filament assembly| |otic vesicle development| |muscle hypertrophy in response to stress| |titin binding| |cardiac muscle hypertrophy in response to stress| |adult heart development| |skeletal myofibril assembly| |cardiac muscle fiber development| |response to muscle stretch| |I band| |cardiac myofibril assembly| |striated muscle adaptation| |cardiac muscle hypertrophy| |skeletal muscle contraction| |striated muscle hypertrophy| |muscle hypertrophy| |muscle adaptation| |muscle filament sliding| |actin-myosin filament sliding| |musculoskeletal movement| |multicellular organismal movement| |detection of mechanical stimulus| |sarcomere organization| |structural constituent of muscle| |muscle fiber development| |cardiac muscle cell development| |somitogenesis| |cardiac cell development| |myofibril assembly| |cardiac muscle tissue morphogenesis| |cardiac muscle contraction| |protein binding, bridging| |muscle tissue morphogenesis| |somite development| |muscle organ morphogenesis| |heart contraction| |cardiac muscle cell differentiation| |actin-mediated cell contraction| |segmentation| |inner ear morphogenesis| |heart process| |cellular component assembly involved in morphogenesis| |striated muscle contraction| |actin filament-based movement| |actomyosin structure organization| |cardiocyte differentiation| |ear morphogenesis| |detection of external stimulus| |detection of abiotic stimulus| |ion channel binding| |epithelial tube formation| |Z disc| |striated muscle cell development| |tube formation| |muscle cell development| |cardiac muscle tissue development| |inner ear development| |striated muscle cell differentiation| |response to mechanical stimulus| |anterior/posterior pattern specification| |ear development| |actin filament organization| |muscle cell differentiation| |muscle contraction| |heart morphogenesis| |sensory organ morphogenesis| |striated muscle tissue development| |embryonic organ morphogenesis| |muscle organ development| |muscle tissue development| |muscle system process| |epithelial tube morphogenesis| |regionalization| |blood circulation| |circulatory system process| |morphogenesis of an epithelium| |embryonic organ development| |pattern specification process| |supramolecular fiber organization| |muscle structure development| |actin cytoskeleton organization| |heart development| |sensory organ development| |tissue morphogenesis| |embryonic morphogenesis| |actin filament-based process| |chordate embryonic development| |embryo development ending in birth or egg hatching| |tube morphogenesis| |detection of stimulus| |organelle assembly| |cellular component morphogenesis| |cellular protein-containing complex assembly| |tube development| |circulatory system development| |anatomical structure formation involved in morphogenesis| |animal organ morphogenesis| |embryo development| |cytoskeleton organization| |epithelium development| |response to abiotic stimulus| |movement of cell or subcellular component| |protein-containing complex assembly| |cell development| |tissue development| |protein-containing complex subunit organization| |system process| \\ === CRISPR Data === ^Screen^Score^ |[[:results:exp115|A-366 10μM R03 exp115]]|1.71| |[[:results:exp241|QNZ 0.01μM R05 exp241]]|1.74| No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics.
