Subunit A is transcriptionally active and its transcription activity is strongly enhanced by binding to the dimeric complex of the SIII regulatory subunits B and C (elongin BC complex) (PubMed:7638163). In embryonic stem cells, the elongin BC complex is recruited by EPOP to Polycomb group (PcG) target genes in order generate genomic region that display both active and repressive chromatin properties, an important feature of pluripotent stem cells (By similarity). {ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:P62869, ECO:0000269|PubMed:7638163}. |ubiquitin| |VCB complex| |Cul5-RING ubiquitin ligase complex| |elongin complex| |Cul2-RING ubiquitin ligase complex| |transcription elongation from RNA polymerase II promoter| |regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter in response to hypoxia| |DNA-templated transcription, elongation| |regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter in response to stress| |regulation of DNA-templated transcription in response to stress| |cellular response to hypoxia| |cellular response to decreased oxygen levels| |cellular response to oxygen levels| |ubiquitin protein ligase binding| |response to hypoxia| |response to decreased oxygen levels| |post-translational protein modification| |response to oxygen levels| |transcription by RNA polymerase II| |transcription, DNA-templated| |nucleic acid-templated transcription| |RNA biosynthetic process| |protein ubiquitination| |protein modification by small protein conjugation| |protein modification by small protein conjugation or removal| |nucleobase-containing compound biosynthetic process| |response to abiotic stimulus| |heterocycle biosynthetic process| |aromatic compound biosynthetic process| |organic cyclic compound biosynthetic process| |protein-containing complex assembly| |cellular nitrogen compound biosynthetic process| |RNA metabolic process| |cellular response to stress| |cellular macromolecule biosynthetic process| |macromolecule biosynthetic process| |protein-containing complex subunit organization| |gene expression| \\ === CRISPR Data === ^Screen^Score^ |[[:results:exp302|35°C R06 exp302]]|-1.75| |[[:results:exp40|2-Methoxyestradiol 0.2μM R01 exp40]]|1.76| No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics.
