Mechanistically, TRIM29 interacts with IKBKG/NEMO in the lysosome where it induces its 'Lys-48' ubiquitination and subsequent degradation. In turn, the expression of type I interferons and the production of proinflammatory cytokines are inhibited. Additionally, induces the 'Lys-48' ubiquitination of TMEM173/STING in a similar way, leading to its degradation. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:27695001, ECO:0000269|PubMed:29038422}. |zf-B box| |cadherin binding involved in cell-cell adhesion| |negative regulation of protein localization to nucleus| |p53 binding| |cell-cell adherens junction| |negative regulation of cellular protein localization| |regulation of protein localization to nucleus| |lysosome| |transcription by RNA polymerase II| |cell-cell adhesion| |regulation of cellular protein localization| |transcription, DNA-templated| |nucleic acid-templated transcription| |RNA biosynthetic process| |DNA-binding transcription factor activity| |innate immune response| |zinc ion binding| |negative regulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II| |regulation of cellular localization| |cell adhesion| |biological adhesion| |defense response to other organism| |regulation of protein localization| |identical protein binding| |nucleobase-containing compound biosynthetic process| |heterocycle biosynthetic process| |aromatic compound biosynthetic process| |negative regulation of transcription, DNA-templated| |negative regulation of nucleic acid-templated transcription| |negative regulation of RNA biosynthetic process| |response to other organism| |organic cyclic compound biosynthetic process| |response to external biotic stimulus| |response to biotic stimulus| |negative regulation of RNA metabolic process| |defense response| |negative regulation of cellular macromolecule biosynthetic process| |negative regulation of nucleobase-containing compound metabolic process| |negative regulation of macromolecule biosynthetic process| |negative regulation of cellular biosynthetic process| |negative regulation of biosynthetic process| |cellular nitrogen compound biosynthetic process| |RNA metabolic process| |cellular macromolecule biosynthetic process| |negative regulation of gene expression| |macromolecule biosynthetic process| |immune response| |gene expression| \\ === CRISPR Data === ^Screen^Score^ |[[:results:exp303|39°C R06 exp303]]|1.85| No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics.
