This protein is localized in the nucleus and contains an E1A-type zinc finger domain, which mediates interaction with transcriptional coactivators and ligand-bound nuclear receptors, such as thyroid hormone receptor and retinoid X receptor alpha, but not glucocorticoid receptor. Mutations in this gene are associated with spinal muscular atrophy with congenital bone fractures-1 (SMABF1). [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2016]. * **UniProt Summary**: Transcription coactivator which associates with nuclear receptors, transcriptional coactivators including EP300, CREBBP and NCOA1, and basal transcription factors like TBP and TFIIA to facilitate nuclear receptors-mediated transcription. May thereby play an important role in establishing distinct coactivator complexes under different cellular conditions. Plays a role in thyroid hormone receptor and estrogen receptor transactivation (PubMed:10454579, PubMed:25219498). Also involved in androgen receptor transactivation (By similarity). Plays a pivotal role in the transactivation of NF-kappa-B, SRF and AP1. Acts as a mediator of transrepression between nuclear receptor and either AP1 or NF- kappa-B (PubMed:12077347). May play a role in the development of neuromuscular junction (PubMed:26924529). May play a role in late myogenic differentiation (By similarity). {ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:Q9QXN3, ECO:0000269|PubMed:10454579, ECO:0000269|PubMed:12077347, ECO:0000269|PubMed:25219498, ECO:0000269|PubMed:26924529}. |ASCH| |zf-C2HC5| |activating signal cointegrator 1 complex| |intracellular estrogen receptor signaling pathway| |nuclear receptor binding| |ubiquitin-like protein ligase binding| |histone acetyltransferase binding| |toxin transport| |estrogen receptor binding| |regulation of myoblast differentiation| |intracellular steroid hormone receptor signaling pathway| |neuromuscular junction| |protease binding| |steroid hormone mediated signaling pathway| |intracellular receptor signaling pathway| |hormone-mediated signaling pathway| |cellular response to steroid hormone stimulus| |nuclear body| |transcription coactivator activity| |response to steroid hormone| |protein kinase binding| |centrosome| |cellular response to lipid| |cellular response to organic cyclic compound| |protein-containing complex| |cellular response to hormone stimulus| |zinc ion binding| |response to lipid| |response to hormone| |response to organic cyclic compound| |cellular response to endogenous stimulus| |response to endogenous stimulus| |positive regulation of transcription, DNA-templated| |positive regulation of nucleic acid-templated transcription| |positive regulation of RNA biosynthetic process| |positive regulation of RNA metabolic process| |regulation of cell differentiation| |positive regulation of nucleobase-containing compound metabolic process| |positive regulation of macromolecule biosynthetic process| |positive regulation of cellular biosynthetic process| |positive regulation of gene expression| |positive regulation of biosynthetic process| \\ === CRISPR Data === ^Screen^Score^ |L-74142 5μM R03 exp131|-2.56| |PF-06409577 20μM R07 exp389|-2.07| |GSK626616 14μM R08 exp485|-1.95| |Disulfiram 4.3μM R06 exp281|-1.72| No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics.
