Acts as an activator and inhibitor of sodium-coupled chloride cotransporters and potassium-coupled chloride cotransporters respectively. Activates SLC12A2, SCNN1A, SCNN1B, SCNN1D and SGK1 and inhibits SLC12A5. Negatively regulates the EGF-induced activation of the ERK/MAPK-pathway and the downstream cell cycle progression. Affects MAPK3/MAPK1 activity by modulating the activity of MAP2K1 and this modulation depends on phosphorylation of MAP2K1 by PAK1. WNK2 acts by interfering with the activity of PAK1 by controlling the balance of the activity of upstream regulators of PAK1 activity, RHOA and RAC1, which display reciprocal activity. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:17667937, ECO:0000269|PubMed:18593598, ECO:0000269|PubMed:21733846}. |OSR1 C| |Pkinase| |Pkinase Tyr| |positive regulation of potassium ion import across plasma membrane| |potassium channel inhibitor activity| |regulation of potassium ion import| |chloride channel inhibitor activity| |positive regulation of sodium ion transmembrane transporter activity| |negative regulation of sodium ion transport| |positive regulation of sodium ion transmembrane transport| |positive regulation of sodium ion transport| |positive regulation of potassium ion transmembrane transport| |positive regulation of potassium ion transport| |regulation of sodium ion transmembrane transporter activity| |regulation of sodium ion transmembrane transport| |negative regulation of ERK1 and ERK2 cascade| |regulation of potassium ion transmembrane transport| |regulation of sodium ion transport| |regulation of potassium ion transport| |positive regulation of ion transmembrane transporter activity| |positive regulation of transporter activity| |positive regulation of cation transmembrane transport| |positive regulation of canonical Wnt signaling pathway| |negative regulation of ion transport| |positive regulation of ion transmembrane transport| |negative regulation of MAPK cascade| |positive regulation of Wnt signaling pathway| |protein autophosphorylation| |positive regulation of transmembrane transport| |regulation of ion transmembrane transporter activity| |regulation of transmembrane transporter activity| |positive regulation of ion transport| |regulation of transporter activity| |regulation of canonical Wnt signaling pathway| |regulation of ERK1 and ERK2 cascade| |regulation of cation transmembrane transport| |regulation of Wnt signaling pathway| |protein serine/threonine kinase activity| |regulation of metal ion transport| |negative regulation of protein phosphorylation| |negative regulation of phosphorylation| |regulation of ion transmembrane transport| |negative regulation of transport| |negative regulation of intracellular signal transduction| |negative regulation of phosphate metabolic process| |negative regulation of phosphorus metabolic process| |regulation of transmembrane transport| |negative regulation of protein modification process| |negative regulation of cell population proliferation| |regulation of ion transport| |regulation of MAPK cascade| |ion homeostasis| |protein phosphorylation| |positive regulation of transport| |negative regulation of cellular protein metabolic process| |negative regulation of protein metabolic process| |chemical homeostasis| |negative regulation of signal transduction| |phosphorylation| |negative regulation of cell communication| |negative regulation of signaling| |regulation of protein phosphorylation| |ATP binding| |regulation of phosphorylation| |regulation of cell population proliferation| |negative regulation of response to stimulus| |homeostatic process| |positive regulation of signal transduction| |intracellular signal transduction| |positive regulation of molecular function| |regulation of phosphate metabolic process| |regulation of phosphorus metabolic process| |positive regulation of cell communication| |positive regulation of signaling| |regulation of intracellular signal transduction| |regulation of protein modification process| |regulation of transport| \\ === CRISPR Data === ^Screen^Score^ |[[:results:exp439|QNZ 0.01μM R08 exp439]]|1.77| No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics.
