Substrate specificity is the primary characteristic used to define members of this gene family. The ACADSB gene product has the greatest activity towards the short branched chain acyl-CoA derivative, (S)-2-methylbutyryl-CoA, but also reacts significantly with other 2-methyl branched chain substrates and with short straight chain acyl-CoAs. The cDNA encodes for a mitochondrial precursor protein which is cleaved upon mitochondrial import and predicted to yield a mature peptide of approximately 43.7-KDa. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]. * **<color #00a2e8>UniProt Summary</color>**: Has greatest activity toward short branched chain acyl- CoA derivative such as (s)-2-methylbutyryl-CoA, isobutyryl-CoA, and 2-methylhexanoyl-CoA as well as toward short straight chain acyl-CoAs such as butyryl-CoA and hexanoyl-CoA. Can use valproyl- CoA as substrate and may play a role in controlling the metabolic flux of valproic acid in the development of toxicity of this agent. <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='Pfam_Domains'>Pfam Domains</button> <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='GO_terms'>GO Terms</button> <modal id='Pfam_Domains' size='lg' title='Pfam Domains'> |Acyl-CoA dh M| |Acyl-CoA dh 2| |Acyl-CoA dh N| |Acyl-CoA dh 1| </modal> <modal id='GO_terms' size='lg' title='GO Terms'> |acyl-CoA dehydrogenase activity| |branched-chain amino acid metabolic process| |branched-chain amino acid catabolic process| |flavin adenine dinucleotide binding| |cellular amino acid catabolic process| |organic acid catabolic process| |carboxylic acid catabolic process| |cellular amino acid metabolic process| |fatty acid metabolic process| |mitochondrial matrix| |small molecule catabolic process| |monocarboxylic acid metabolic process| |carboxylic acid metabolic process| |cellular lipid metabolic process| |oxidation-reduction process| |oxoacid metabolic process| |organic acid metabolic process| |organonitrogen compound catabolic process| |lipid metabolic process| |mitochondrion| |small molecule metabolic process| |organic substance catabolic process| |cellular catabolic process| </modal> \\ === CRISPR Data === <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Compound_Hit'>Compound Hit</button> <button type='default' size='small' modal='Most_Correlated_Genes'>Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Essential_Avana'>Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)</button> <modal id='Compound_Hit' size='lg' title='Compound Hit'> ^Screen^Score^ |HMS-I1 1μM R01 exp46|-2.29| |UMK57 1μM R01 exp59|-2.05| |Nifuroxazide 1μM R01 exp51|1.73| |Lapatinib 5μM R01 exp47|1.79| |2-Methoxyestradiol 0.2μM R01 exp40|1.82| </modal> <modal id='Most_Correlated_Genes' size='lg' title='Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics'> No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics. </modal> <modal id='Essential_Avana' size='lg' title='Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)'> Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 1/739 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|0/1| |909776.0|0/1| |bile duct|0/28| |blood|0/28| |bone|0/26| |breast|1/33| |central nervous system|0/56| |cervix|0/4| |colorectal|0/17| |esophagus|0/13| |fibroblast|0/1| |gastric|0/16| |kidney|0/21| |liver|0/20| |lung|0/75| |lymphocyte|0/16| |ovary|0/26| |pancreas|0/24| |peripheral nervous system|0/16| |plasma cell|0/15| |prostate|0/1| |skin|0/24| |soft tissue|0/9| |thyroid|0/2| |upper aerodigestive|0/22| |urinary tract|0/29| |uterus|0/5| </modal> == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **<color #00a2e8>Essentiality Rank</color>**: 13722 * **<color #00a2e8>Expression level (log2 read counts)</color>**: 5.21 <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Dist_expr'>Expression Distribution</button> <modal id='Dist_expr' size='lg' title='ACADSB Expression in NALM6 Cells: 5.21'> </modal> Last modified: 2025/12/10 20:19by 127.0.0.1
