The encoded protein is found in the cytoplasm as part of a multiprotein complex, but upon binding of ligand is transported to the nucleus. This protein can regulate the expression of many xenobiotic metabolizing enzymes. Also, the encoded protein can bind specifically to and inhibit the activity of hepatitis B virus. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2014]. * **<color #00a2e8>UniProt Summary</color>**: May play a positive role in AHR-mediated (aromatic hydrocarbon receptor) signaling, possibly by influencing its receptivity for ligand and/or its nuclear targeting. <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='Pfam_Domains'>Pfam Domains</button> <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='GO_terms'>GO Terms</button> <modal id='Pfam_Domains' size='lg' title='Pfam Domains'> |FKBP C| </modal> <modal id='GO_terms' size='lg' title='GO Terms'> |GAF domain binding| |aryl hydrocarbon receptor complex| |negative regulation of cyclic-nucleotide phosphodiesterase activity| |regulation of cyclic-nucleotide phosphodiesterase activity| |aryl hydrocarbon receptor binding| |protein maturation by protein folding| |regulation of protein kinase A signaling| |peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerase activity| |protein peptidyl-prolyl isomerization| |interleukin-12-mediated signaling pathway| |cellular response to interleukin-12| |response to interleukin-12| |protein targeting to mitochondrion| |peptidyl-proline modification| |establishment of protein localization to mitochondrion| |protein localization to mitochondrion| |xenobiotic metabolic process| |unfolded protein binding| |cellular response to xenobiotic stimulus| |mitochondrial transport| |protein maturation| |protein folding| |transcription coactivator activity| |response to xenobiotic stimulus| |transcription factor binding| |protein targeting| |establishment of protein localization to organelle| |mitochondrion organization| |negative regulation of hydrolase activity| |cytokine-mediated signaling pathway| |protein localization to organelle| |negative regulation of catalytic activity| |peptidyl-amino acid modification| |intracellular protein transport| |cellular response to cytokine stimulus| |response to cytokine| |negative regulation of molecular function| |regulation of hydrolase activity| |protein transport| |intracellular transport| |peptide transport| |amide transport| |cellular protein localization| |cellular macromolecule localization| |establishment of protein localization| |positive regulation of nucleic acid-templated transcription| |positive regulation of RNA biosynthetic process| |positive regulation of RNA metabolic process| |regulation of intracellular signal transduction| |establishment of localization in cell| |nitrogen compound transport| |positive regulation of nucleobase-containing compound metabolic process| |positive regulation of macromolecule biosynthetic process| |positive regulation of cellular biosynthetic process| |gene expression| |positive regulation of biosynthetic process| </modal> \\ === CRISPR Data === <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Compound_Hit'>Compound Hit</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Most_Correlated_Genes'>Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Essential_Avana'>Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)</button> <modal id='Compound_Hit' size='lg' title='Compound Hit'> ^Screen^Score^ |Ethanol 0.01 R05 exp234|-2.49| |MS023 2μM R03 exp134|-2.1| |Rapamycin 2μM R07 exp306|-1.92| |5-Azacytidine 2μM R07 exp330|-1.77| |Rapamycin 1μM R00 exp29|-1.74| |Cytochalasin-B 5μM R07 exp349|-1.7| |I-BRD9 4μM R07 exp365|1.78| |Colchicine 0.009μM R05 exp215|1.98| </modal> <modal id='Most_Correlated_Genes' size='lg' title='Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics'> ^Gene^Correlation^ |PDE7A|0.452| |PRKAR1A|0.45| |CMIP|0.408| </modal> <modal id='Essential_Avana' size='lg' title='Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)'> Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 1/726 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|0/1| |909776.0|0/1| |bile duct|0/28| |blood|1/28| |bone|0/25| |breast|0/33| |central nervous system|0/56| |cervix|0/4| |colorectal|0/17| |esophagus|0/13| |fibroblast|0/1| |gastric|0/15| |kidney|0/21| |liver|0/20| |lung|0/75| |lymphocyte|0/14| |ovary|0/26| |pancreas|0/24| |peripheral nervous system|0/16| |plasma cell|0/15| |prostate|0/1| |skin|0/24| |soft tissue|0/7| |thyroid|0/2| |upper aerodigestive|0/22| |urinary tract|0/29| |uterus|0/5| </modal> == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **<color #00a2e8>Essentiality Rank</color>**: 4522 * **<color #00a2e8>Expression level (log2 read counts)</color>**: 5.12 <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Dist_expr'>Expression Distribution</button> <modal id='Dist_expr' size='lg' title='AIP Expression in NALM6 Cells: 5.12'> </modal> Last modified: 2025/12/10 20:19by 127.0.0.1
