The encoded protein has been shown to also be a docking protein or receptor for Bacillus anthracis toxin, the causative agent of the disease, anthrax. The binding of the protective antigen (PA) component, of the tripartite anthrax toxin, to this receptor protein mediates delivery of toxin components to the cytosol of cells. Once inside the cell, the other two components of anthrax toxin, edema factor (EF) and lethal factor (LF) disrupt normal cellular processes. Three alternatively spliced variants that encode different protein isoforms have been described. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2008]. * **<color #00a2e8>UniProt Summary</color>**: Plays a role in cell attachment and migration. Interacts with extracellular matrix proteins and with the actin cytoskeleton. Mediates adhesion of cells to type 1 collagen and gelatin, reorganization of the actin cytoskeleton and promotes cell spreading. Plays a role in the angiogenic response of cultured umbilical vein endothelial cells. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:15777794, ECO:0000269|PubMed:16762926}. <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='Pfam_Domains'>Pfam Domains</button> <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='GO_terms'>GO Terms</button> <modal id='Pfam_Domains' size='lg' title='Pfam Domains'> |VWA| |Anth Ig| |VWA CoxE| |Ant C| </modal> <modal id='GO_terms' size='lg' title='GO Terms'> |negative regulation of extracellular matrix assembly| |positive regulation of metallopeptidase activity| |regulation of extracellular matrix assembly| |negative regulation of extracellular matrix organization| |regulation of metallopeptidase activity| |filopodium membrane| |lamellipodium membrane| |regulation of extracellular matrix organization| |toxin transport| |substrate adhesion-dependent cell spreading| |collagen binding| |actin cytoskeleton reorganization| |transmembrane signaling receptor activity| |cell-substrate adhesion| |positive regulation of peptidase activity| |actin filament binding| |endosome membrane| |positive regulation of proteolysis| |external side of plasma membrane| |regulation of peptidase activity| |blood vessel development| |actin cytoskeleton organization| |vasculature development| |cardiovascular system development| |cell morphogenesis involved in differentiation| |actin filament-based process| |cell surface| |negative regulation of cellular component organization| |cell morphogenesis| |regulation of proteolysis| |positive regulation of hydrolase activity| |cellular component morphogenesis| |circulatory system development| |cell adhesion| |biological adhesion| |regulation of cellular component biogenesis| |cytoskeleton organization| |regulation of hydrolase activity| |reproductive process| |reproduction| |positive regulation of catalytic activity| |positive regulation of cellular protein metabolic process| |cell development| |positive regulation of protein metabolic process| |positive regulation of molecular function| </modal> \\ === CRISPR Data === <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Compound_Hit'>Compound Hit</button> <button type='default' size='small' modal='Most_Correlated_Genes'>Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Essential_Avana'>Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)</button> <modal id='Compound_Hit' size='lg' title='Compound Hit'> ^Screen^Score^ |[[:results:exp426|FBS-Wisent 0.1 R07 exp426]]|2.15| </modal> <modal id='Most_Correlated_Genes' size='lg' title='Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics'> No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics. </modal> <modal id='Essential_Avana' size='lg' title='Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)'> Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 0/739 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|0/1| |909776.0|0/1| |bile duct|0/28| |blood|0/28| |bone|0/26| |breast|0/33| |central nervous system|0/56| |cervix|0/4| |colorectal|0/17| |esophagus|0/13| |fibroblast|0/1| |gastric|0/16| |kidney|0/21| |liver|0/20| |lung|0/75| |lymphocyte|0/16| |ovary|0/26| |pancreas|0/24| |peripheral nervous system|0/16| |plasma cell|0/15| |prostate|0/1| |skin|0/24| |soft tissue|0/9| |thyroid|0/2| |upper aerodigestive|0/22| |urinary tract|0/29| |uterus|0/5| </modal> == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **<color #00a2e8>Essentiality Rank</color>**: 16982 * **<color #00a2e8>Expression level (log2 read counts)</color>**: 2.62 <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Dist_expr'>Expression Distribution</button> <modal id='Dist_expr' size='lg' title='ANTXR1 Expression in NALM6 Cells: 2.62'> {{:chemogenomics:nalm6 dist.png?nolink |}} </modal> Last modified: 2025/12/10 20:19by 127.0.0.1
