All members of the ESRR family share an almost identical DNA binding domain, which is composed of two C4-type zinc finger motifs. The ESRR members are orphan nuclear receptors; they bind to the estrogen response element and steroidogenic factor 1 response element, and activate genes controlled by both response elements in the absence of any ligands. The ESRR family is closely related to the estrogen receptor (ER) family. They share target genes, co-regulators and promoters, and by targeting the same set of genes, the ESRRs seem to interfere with the ER-mediated estrogen response in various ways. It has been reported that the family member encoded by this gene functions as a transcriptional activator of DNA cytosine-5-methyltransferases 1 (Dnmt1) expression by direct binding to its response elements in the DNMT1 promoters, modulates cell proliferation and estrogen signaling in breast cancer, and negatively regulates bone morphogenetic protein 2-induced osteoblast differentiation and bone formation. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been identified, which mainly differ at the 5' end and some of which encode protein isoforms differing in the N-terminal region. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2011]. COMPLETENESS: complete on the 3' end. * **<color #00a2e8>UniProt Summary</color>**: N/A <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='Pfam_Domains'>Pfam Domains</button> <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='GO_terms'>GO Terms</button> <modal id='Pfam_Domains' size='lg' title='Pfam Domains'> |Hormone recep| |zf-C4| </modal> <modal id='GO_terms' size='lg' title='GO Terms'> |AF-2 domain binding| |retinoic acid receptor signaling pathway| |steroid binding| |nuclear receptor activity| |steroid hormone receptor activity| |positive regulation of cold-induced thermogenesis| |steroid hormone mediated signaling pathway| |regulation of cold-induced thermogenesis| |intracellular receptor signaling pathway| |hormone-mediated signaling pathway| |transcription initiation from RNA polymerase II promoter| |cellular response to steroid hormone stimulus| |DNA-templated transcription, initiation| |RNA polymerase II regulatory region sequence-specific DNA binding| |response to steroid hormone| |DNA-binding transcription activator activity, RNA polymerase II-specific| |transcription by RNA polymerase II| |cellular response to lipid| |cellular response to organic cyclic compound| |cellular response to hormone stimulus| |transcription, DNA-templated| |nucleic acid-templated transcription| |RNA biosynthetic process| |zinc ion binding| |response to lipid| |response to hormone| |response to organic cyclic compound| |nucleobase-containing compound biosynthetic process| |heterocycle biosynthetic process| |aromatic compound biosynthetic process| |positive regulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II| |cellular response to endogenous stimulus| |organic cyclic compound biosynthetic process| |response to endogenous stimulus| |positive regulation of transcription, DNA-templated| |DNA-binding transcription factor activity, RNA polymerase II-specific| |cellular nitrogen compound biosynthetic process| |positive regulation of nucleic acid-templated transcription| |positive regulation of RNA biosynthetic process| |RNA metabolic process| |cellular macromolecule biosynthetic process| |positive regulation of RNA metabolic process| |positive regulation of multicellular organismal process| |macromolecule biosynthetic process| |positive regulation of nucleobase-containing compound metabolic process| |positive regulation of macromolecule biosynthetic process| |positive regulation of cellular biosynthetic process| |positive regulation of gene expression| |gene expression| |positive regulation of biosynthetic process| </modal> \\ === CRISPR Data === <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Compound_Hit'>Compound Hit</button> <button type='default' size='small' modal='Most_Correlated_Genes'>Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Essential_Avana'>Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)</button> <modal id='Compound_Hit' size='lg' title='Compound Hit'> ^Screen^Score^ |[[:results:exp374|Latrunculin-B 10μM R07 exp374]]|-1.91| |[[:results:exp184|Ixabepilone 0.004 to 0.005μM on day4 R04 exp184]]|2| </modal> <modal id='Most_Correlated_Genes' size='lg' title='Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics'> No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics. </modal> <modal id='Essential_Avana' size='lg' title='Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)'> Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 0/739 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|0/1| |909776.0|0/1| |bile duct|0/28| |blood|0/28| |bone|0/26| |breast|0/33| |central nervous system|0/56| |cervix|0/4| |colorectal|0/17| |esophagus|0/13| |fibroblast|0/1| |gastric|0/16| |kidney|0/21| |liver|0/20| |lung|0/75| |lymphocyte|0/16| |ovary|0/26| |pancreas|0/24| |peripheral nervous system|0/16| |plasma cell|0/15| |prostate|0/1| |skin|0/24| |soft tissue|0/9| |thyroid|0/2| |upper aerodigestive|0/22| |urinary tract|0/29| |uterus|0/5| </modal> == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **<color #00a2e8>Essentiality Rank</color>**: 7905 * **<color #00a2e8>Expression level (log2 read counts)</color>**: 2.17 <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Dist_expr'>Expression Distribution</button> <modal id='Dist_expr' size='lg' title='ESRRG Expression in NALM6 Cells: 2.17'> {{:chemogenomics:nalm6 dist.png?nolink |}} </modal> Last modified: 2025/12/10 20:19by 127.0.0.1
