Fatty acid binding increases glucose- stimulated insulin secretion, and may also enhance the secretion of glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1). May also play a role in bone homeostasis; receptor signaling activates pathways that inhibit osteoclast differentiation (By similarity). Ligand binding leads to a conformation change that triggers signaling via G-proteins that activate phospholipase C, leading to an increase of the intracellular calcium concentration. Seems to act through a G(q) and G(i)-mediated pathway. {ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:Q76JU9, ECO:0000269|PubMed:12496284, ECO:0000269|PubMed:17699519, ECO:0000269|PubMed:24130766}. <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='Pfam_Domains'>Pfam Domains</button> <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='GO_terms'>GO Terms</button> <modal id='Pfam_Domains' size='lg' title='Pfam Domains'> |7tm 1| </modal> <modal id='GO_terms' size='lg' title='GO Terms'> |bioactive lipid receptor activity| |insulin secretion| |peptide hormone secretion| |hormone secretion| |positive regulation of insulin secretion| |hormone transport| |response to fatty acid| |positive regulation of peptide hormone secretion| |positive regulation of calcium ion transport| |positive regulation of hormone secretion| |lipid binding| |protein secretion| |establishment of protein localization to extracellular region| |protein localization to extracellular region| |signal release| |peptide secretion| |regulation of insulin secretion| |glucose homeostasis| |carbohydrate homeostasis| |regulation of peptide hormone secretion| |regulation of calcium ion transport| |regulation of hormone secretion| |positive regulation of protein secretion| |positive regulation of ion transport| |positive regulation of peptide secretion| |response to acid chemical| |regulation of metal ion transport| |positive regulation of secretion by cell| |positive regulation of protein transport| |positive regulation of secretion| |positive regulation of establishment of protein localization| |regulation of protein secretion| |regulation of peptide secretion| |regulation of hormone levels| |regulation of ion transport| |regulation of protein transport| |G protein-coupled receptor activity| |regulation of peptide transport| |regulation of establishment of protein localization| |regulation of secretion by cell| |regulation of secretion| |response to lipid| |positive regulation of transport| |secretion by cell| |regulation of protein localization| |export from cell| |chemical homeostasis| |cell-cell signaling| |secretion| |G protein-coupled receptor signaling pathway| |integral component of plasma membrane| |protein transport| |peptide transport| |response to oxygen-containing compound| |amide transport| |establishment of protein localization| |homeostatic process| |positive regulation of cell communication| |positive regulation of signaling| |nitrogen compound transport| |regulation of transport| </modal> \\ === CRISPR Data === <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Compound_Hit'>Compound Hit</button> <button type='default' size='small' modal='Most_Correlated_Genes'>Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Essential_Avana'>Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)</button> <modal id='Compound_Hit' size='lg' title='Compound Hit'> ^Screen^Score^ |GSK-LSD1 10μM R03 exp123|-1.98| |IU1-C 25μM R04 exp183|-1.93| |Phenformin 20μM R03 exp143|-1.82| |Cadmium 60μM R08 exp462|1.73| </modal> <modal id='Most_Correlated_Genes' size='lg' title='Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics'> No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics. </modal> <modal id='Essential_Avana' size='lg' title='Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)'> Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 0/739 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|0/1| |909776.0|0/1| |bile duct|0/28| |blood|0/28| |bone|0/26| |breast|0/33| |central nervous system|0/56| |cervix|0/4| |colorectal|0/17| |esophagus|0/13| |fibroblast|0/1| |gastric|0/16| |kidney|0/21| |liver|0/20| |lung|0/75| |lymphocyte|0/16| |ovary|0/26| |pancreas|0/24| |peripheral nervous system|0/16| |plasma cell|0/15| |prostate|0/1| |skin|0/24| |soft tissue|0/9| |thyroid|0/2| |upper aerodigestive|0/22| |urinary tract|0/29| |uterus|0/5| </modal> == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **<color #00a2e8>Essentiality Rank</color>**: 16059 * **<color #00a2e8>Expression level (log2 read counts)</color>**: 1.25 <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Dist_expr'>Expression Distribution</button> <modal id='Dist_expr' size='lg' title='FFAR1 Expression in NALM6 Cells: 1.25'> </modal> Last modified: 2025/12/10 20:19by 127.0.0.1
