L-glutamate acts as an excitatory neurotransmitter at many synapses in the central nervous system. Binding of the excitatory neurotransmitter L- glutamate induces a conformation change, leading to the opening of the cation channel, and thereby converts the chemical signal to an electrical impulse. The receptor then desensitizes rapidly and enters a transient inactive state, characterized by the presence of bound agonist. In the presence of CACNG4 or CACNG7 or CACNG8, shows resensitization which is characterized by a delayed accumulation of current flux upon continued application of glutamate. Through complex formation with NSG1, GRIP1 and STX12 controls the intracellular fate of AMPAR and the endosomal sorting of the GRIA2 subunit toward recycling and membrane targeting (By similarity). {ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:P19491, ECO:0000269|PubMed:20614889}. <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='Pfam_Domains'>Pfam Domains</button> <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='GO_terms'>GO Terms</button> <modal id='Pfam_Domains' size='lg' title='Pfam Domains'> |Lig chan| |Lig chan-Glu bd| |ANF receptor| |SBP bac 3| </modal> <modal id='GO_terms' size='lg' title='GO Terms'> |postsynaptic endocytic zone| |AMPA glutamate receptor activity| |ionotropic glutamate receptor activity| |ionotropic glutamate receptor signaling pathway| |AMPA glutamate receptor complex| |synaptic transmission, glutamatergic| |excitatory synapse| |regulation of NMDA receptor activity| |glutamate receptor signaling pathway| |regulation of glutamate receptor signaling pathway| |endocytic vesicle membrane| |regulation of neurotransmitter receptor activity| |amyloid-beta binding| |postsynapse| |dendritic spine| |regulation of cation channel activity| |regulation of signaling receptor activity| |postsynaptic membrane| |postsynaptic density| |regulation of ion transmembrane transporter activity| |regulation of transmembrane transporter activity| |regulation of transporter activity| |regulation of cation transmembrane transport| |external side of plasma membrane| |anterograde trans-synaptic signaling| |dendrite| |chemical synaptic transmission| |trans-synaptic signaling| |synaptic signaling| |regulation of ion transmembrane transport| |cell junction| |regulation of transmembrane transport| |regulation of ion transport| |endoplasmic reticulum membrane| |ion transmembrane transport| |cell-cell signaling| |transmembrane transport| |ion transport| |integral component of plasma membrane| |regulation of transport| </modal> \\ === CRISPR Data === <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Compound_Hit'>Compound Hit</button> <button type='default' size='small' modal='Most_Correlated_Genes'>Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Essential_Avana'>Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)</button> <modal id='Compound_Hit' size='lg' title='Compound Hit'> ^Screen^Score^ |Taxol 0.002μM R01 exp54|-1.86| |TRAIL 5ng/ml R00 exp35|1.81| |39°C R06 exp303|1.92| </modal> <modal id='Most_Correlated_Genes' size='lg' title='Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics'> No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics. </modal> <modal id='Essential_Avana' size='lg' title='Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)'> Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 0/739 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|0/1| |909776.0|0/1| |bile duct|0/28| |blood|0/28| |bone|0/26| |breast|0/33| |central nervous system|0/56| |cervix|0/4| |colorectal|0/17| |esophagus|0/13| |fibroblast|0/1| |gastric|0/16| |kidney|0/21| |liver|0/20| |lung|0/75| |lymphocyte|0/16| |ovary|0/26| |pancreas|0/24| |peripheral nervous system|0/16| |plasma cell|0/15| |prostate|0/1| |skin|0/24| |soft tissue|0/9| |thyroid|0/2| |upper aerodigestive|0/22| |urinary tract|0/29| |uterus|0/5| </modal> == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **<color #00a2e8>Essentiality Rank</color>**: 14624 * **<color #00a2e8>Expression level (log2 read counts)</color>**: -3.21 <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Dist_expr'>Expression Distribution</button> <modal id='Dist_expr' size='lg' title='GRIA2 Expression in NALM6 Cells: -3.21'> </modal> Last modified: 2025/12/10 20:19by 127.0.0.1
