Like other membrane guanylyl cyclases, this enzyme has a hydrophobic amino-terminal signal sequence followed by a large extracellular domain, a single membrane spanning domain, a kinase homology domain, and a guanylyl cyclase catalytic domain. In contrast to other membrane guanylyl cyclases, this enzyme is not activated by natriuretic peptides. Mutations in this gene result in Leber congenital amaurosis and cone-rod dystrophy-6 diseases. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2008]. * **<color #00a2e8>UniProt Summary</color>**: Probably plays a specific functional role in the rods and/or cones of photoreceptors. It may be the enzyme involved in the resynthesis of cGMP required for recovery of the dark state after phototransduction. <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='Pfam_Domains'>Pfam Domains</button> <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='GO_terms'>GO Terms</button> <modal id='Pfam_Domains' size='lg' title='Pfam Domains'> |Pkinase| |Pkinase Tyr| |Guanylate cyc| |ANF receptor| </modal> <modal id='GO_terms' size='lg' title='GO Terms'> |peptide receptor activity| |guanylate cyclase activity| |receptor guanylyl cyclase signaling pathway| |cGMP biosynthetic process| |cGMP metabolic process| |photoreceptor disc membrane| |cyclic purine nucleotide metabolic process| |cyclic nucleotide biosynthetic process| |nuclear outer membrane| |regulation of rhodopsin mediated signaling pathway| |cyclic nucleotide metabolic process| |regulation of G protein-coupled receptor signaling pathway| |purine ribonucleotide biosynthetic process| |purine nucleotide biosynthetic process| |ribonucleotide biosynthetic process| |ribose phosphate biosynthetic process| |purine-containing compound biosynthetic process| |signaling receptor activity| |visual perception| |sensory perception of light stimulus| |protein kinase activity| |nucleotide biosynthetic process| |nucleoside phosphate biosynthetic process| |purine ribonucleotide metabolic process| |ribonucleotide metabolic process| |purine nucleotide metabolic process| |ribose phosphate metabolic process| |purine-containing compound metabolic process| |GTP binding| |nucleotide metabolic process| |nucleoside phosphate metabolic process| |organophosphate biosynthetic process| |nucleobase-containing small molecule metabolic process| |carbohydrate derivative biosynthetic process| |enzyme linked receptor protein signaling pathway| |organophosphate metabolic process| |sensory perception| |protein phosphorylation| |carbohydrate derivative metabolic process| |regulation of response to external stimulus| |nucleobase-containing compound biosynthetic process| |heterocycle biosynthetic process| |aromatic compound biosynthetic process| |phosphorylation| |organic cyclic compound biosynthetic process| |nervous system process| |integral component of plasma membrane| |organonitrogen compound biosynthetic process| |ATP binding| |cellular nitrogen compound biosynthetic process| |intracellular signal transduction| |small molecule metabolic process| |system process| </modal> \\ === CRISPR Data === <button type='default' size='small' modal='Compound_Hit'>Compound Hit</button> <button type='default' size='small' modal='Most_Correlated_Genes'>Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Essential_Avana'>Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)</button> <modal id='Compound_Hit' size='lg' title='Compound Hit'> No hits were found. </modal> <modal id='Most_Correlated_Genes' size='lg' title='Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics'> No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics. </modal> <modal id='Essential_Avana' size='lg' title='Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)'> Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 0/739 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|0/1| |909776.0|0/1| |bile duct|0/28| |blood|0/28| |bone|0/26| |breast|0/33| |central nervous system|0/56| |cervix|0/4| |colorectal|0/17| |esophagus|0/13| |fibroblast|0/1| |gastric|0/16| |kidney|0/21| |liver|0/20| |lung|0/75| |lymphocyte|0/16| |ovary|0/26| |pancreas|0/24| |peripheral nervous system|0/16| |plasma cell|0/15| |prostate|0/1| |skin|0/24| |soft tissue|0/9| |thyroid|0/2| |upper aerodigestive|0/22| |urinary tract|0/29| |uterus|0/5| </modal> == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **<color #00a2e8>Essentiality Rank</color>**: 6317 * **<color #00a2e8>Expression level (log2 read counts)</color>**: -6.6 <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Dist_expr'>Expression Distribution</button> <modal id='Dist_expr' size='lg' title='GUCY2D Expression in NALM6 Cells: -6.6'> {{:chemogenomics:nalm6 dist.png?nolink |}} </modal> Last modified: 2025/12/10 20:19by 127.0.0.1
