Serves as receptor for nuclear localization signals (NLS) in cargo substrates. Is thought to mediate docking of the importin/substrate complex to the nuclear pore complex (NPC) through binding to nucleoporin and the complex is subsequently translocated through the pore by an energy requiring, Ran- dependent mechanism. At the nucleoplasmic side of the NPC, Ran binds to the importin, the importin/substrate complex dissociates and importin is re-exported from the nucleus to the cytoplasm where GTP hydrolysis releases Ran. The directionality of nuclear import is thought to be conferred by an asymmetric distribution of the GTP- and GDP-bound forms of Ran between the cytoplasm and nucleus (By similarity). Mediates the nuclear import of UBE2E3, and of RPL12 (By similarity). {ECO:0000250, ECO:0000269|PubMed:11032817}. <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='Pfam_Domains'>Pfam Domains</button> <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='GO_terms'>GO Terms</button> <modal id='Pfam_Domains' size='lg' title='Pfam Domains'> |IBN N| </modal> <modal id='GO_terms' size='lg' title='GO Terms'> |ribosomal protein import into nucleus| |nuclear import signal receptor activity| |Ran GTPase binding| |protein import into nucleus| |import into nucleus| |fibrillar center| |protein import| |protein localization to nucleus| |nuclear envelope| |nucleocytoplasmic transport| |nuclear transport| |establishment of protein localization to organelle| |protein localization to organelle| |intracellular protein transport| |protein transport| |intracellular transport| |peptide transport| |amide transport| |cellular protein localization| |cellular macromolecule localization| |establishment of protein localization| |establishment of localization in cell| |nitrogen compound transport| </modal> \\ === CRISPR Data === <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Compound_Hit'>Compound Hit</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Most_Correlated_Genes'>Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Essential_Avana'>Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)</button> <modal id='Compound_Hit' size='lg' title='Compound Hit'> ^Screen^Score^ |UMK57 1μM R01 exp59|-2.92| |UM0129480 7μM R02 exp85|-2.6| |Staurosporine 0.02μM R08 exp524|-2.46| |Hippuristanol 0.12μM R08 exp488|-2.44| |Sulforaphane 9μM R08 exp526 no dilution day6|-2.34| |Vinblastine 0.002μM R01 exp60|-2.24| |Trimetrexate 0.03μM R08 exp535|-2.08| |DABN 20μM R00 exp17|-1.93| |Rotenone 20μM R00 exp34|-1.9| |Colchicine 0.009μM R05 exp215|-1.89| |BVD-523 15μM R02 exp67|-1.88| |2-Methoxyestradiol 0.55 to 1μM on day4 R07 exp312|-1.82| |Quercetin 20μM R08 exp517|-1.81| |VER-155008 3.9μM R06 exp301|1.72| |GSK-J4 1μM R07 exp362|1.8| |Rifampicin 30μM R08 exp430|1.8| |GSK-J4 1-1.25μM to day4 R07 exp363|1.85| |MK2206 4μM R08 exp504|2.59| |Bortezomib 0.005μM R00 exp6|2.63| </modal> <modal id='Most_Correlated_Genes' size='lg' title='Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics'> ^Gene^Correlation^ |FAM122A|0.448| </modal> <modal id='Essential_Avana' size='lg' title='Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)'> Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 438/739 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|1/1| |909776.0|0/1| |bile duct|16/28| |blood|10/28| |bone|17/26| |breast|23/33| |central nervous system|36/56| |cervix|1/4| |colorectal|10/17| |esophagus|7/13| |fibroblast|1/1| |gastric|7/16| |kidney|10/21| |liver|9/20| |lung|51/75| |lymphocyte|10/16| |ovary|16/26| |pancreas|17/24| |peripheral nervous system|12/16| |plasma cell|9/15| |prostate|0/1| |skin|16/24| |soft tissue|6/9| |thyroid|2/2| |upper aerodigestive|14/22| |urinary tract|16/29| |uterus|4/5| </modal> == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **<color #00a2e8>Essentiality Rank</color>**: 1115 * **<color #00a2e8>Expression level (log2 read counts)</color>**: 5.95 <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Dist_expr'>Expression Distribution</button> <modal id='Dist_expr' size='lg' title='IPO11 Expression in NALM6 Cells: 5.95'> </modal> Last modified: 2025/12/10 20:19by 127.0.0.1
