The C-terminal end of the titin string extends into the M line, where it binds tightly to M-band constituents of apparent molecular masses of 190 kD (myomesin 1) and 165 kD (myomesin 2). This protein, myomesin 1, like myomesin 2, titin, and other myofibrillar proteins contains structural modules with strong homology to either fibronectin type III (motif I) or immunoglobulin C2 (motif II) domains. Myomesin 1 and myomesin 2 each have a unique N-terminal region followed by 12 modules of motif I or motif II, in the arrangement II-II-I-I-I-I-I-II-II-II-II-II. The two proteins share 50% sequence identity in this repeat-containing region. The head structure formed by these 2 proteins on one end of the titin string extends into the center of the M band. The integrating structure of the sarcomere arises from muscle-specific members of the superfamily of immunoglobulin-like proteins. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]. * **<color #00a2e8>UniProt Summary</color>**: Major component of the vertebrate myofibrillar M band. Binds myosin, titin, and light meromyosin. This binding is dose dependent. <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='Pfam_Domains'>Pfam Domains</button> <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='GO_terms'>GO Terms</button> <modal id='Pfam_Domains' size='lg' title='Pfam Domains'> |I-set| |fn3| </modal> <modal id='GO_terms' size='lg' title='GO Terms'> |striated muscle myosin thick filament| |extraocular skeletal muscle development| |striated muscle myosin thick filament assembly| |skeletal muscle myosin thick filament assembly| |myosin filament organization| |myosin filament assembly| |protein kinase A signaling| |skeletal muscle thin filament assembly| |skeletal myofibril assembly| |cardiac muscle fiber development| |striated muscle thin filament| |muscle alpha-actinin binding| |cardiac myofibril assembly| |M band| |sarcomere organization| |structural constituent of muscle| |sarcomere| |muscle fiber development| |cardiac muscle cell development| |cardiac cell development| |myofibril assembly| |cardiac muscle tissue morphogenesis| |muscle tissue morphogenesis| |muscle organ morphogenesis| |cardiac muscle cell differentiation| |kinase binding| |cellular component assembly involved in morphogenesis| |actomyosin structure organization| |cardiocyte differentiation| |skeletal muscle tissue development| |Z disc| |skeletal muscle organ development| |striated muscle cell development| |muscle cell development| |cardiac muscle tissue development| |striated muscle cell differentiation| |actin filament binding| |actin filament organization| |muscle cell differentiation| |heart morphogenesis| |muscle contraction| |positive regulation of protein secretion| |striated muscle tissue development| |positive regulation of peptide secretion| |muscle organ development| |muscle tissue development| |muscle system process| |camera-type eye development| |eye development| |visual system development| |sensory system development| |positive regulation of secretion by cell| |positive regulation of protein transport| |positive regulation of secretion| |supramolecular fiber organization| |positive regulation of establishment of protein localization| |regulation of protein secretion| |muscle structure development| |regulation of peptide secretion| |actin cytoskeleton organization| |heart development| |sensory organ development| |tissue morphogenesis| |actin filament-based process| |regulation of protein transport| |regulation of peptide transport| |regulation of establishment of protein localization| |regulation of secretion by cell| |organelle assembly| |regulation of secretion| |cellular component morphogenesis| |cellular protein-containing complex assembly| |circulatory system development| |protein homodimerization activity| |anatomical structure formation involved in morphogenesis| |animal organ morphogenesis| |positive regulation of transport| |regulation of protein localization| |identical protein binding| |cytoskeleton organization| |protein-containing complex assembly| |cell development| |intracellular signal transduction| |tissue development| |protein-containing complex subunit organization| |regulation of transport| |system process| |positive regulation of gene expression| </modal> \\ === CRISPR Data === <button type='default' size='small' modal='Compound_Hit'>Compound Hit</button> <button type='default' size='small' modal='Most_Correlated_Genes'>Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Essential_Avana'>Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)</button> <modal id='Compound_Hit' size='lg' title='Compound Hit'> No hits were found. </modal> <modal id='Most_Correlated_Genes' size='lg' title='Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics'> No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics. </modal> <modal id='Essential_Avana' size='lg' title='Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)'> Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 0/739 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|0/1| |909776.0|0/1| |bile duct|0/28| |blood|0/28| |bone|0/26| |breast|0/33| |central nervous system|0/56| |cervix|0/4| |colorectal|0/17| |esophagus|0/13| |fibroblast|0/1| |gastric|0/16| |kidney|0/21| |liver|0/20| |lung|0/75| |lymphocyte|0/16| |ovary|0/26| |pancreas|0/24| |peripheral nervous system|0/16| |plasma cell|0/15| |prostate|0/1| |skin|0/24| |soft tissue|0/9| |thyroid|0/2| |upper aerodigestive|0/22| |urinary tract|0/29| |uterus|0/5| </modal> == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **<color #00a2e8>Essentiality Rank</color>**: 13793 * **<color #00a2e8>Expression level (log2 read counts)</color>**: 0.05 <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Dist_expr'>Expression Distribution</button> <modal id='Dist_expr' size='lg' title='MYOM1 Expression in NALM6 Cells: 0.05'> {{:chemogenomics:nalm6 dist.png?nolink |}} </modal> Last modified: 2025/12/10 20:19by 127.0.0.1
