PI3-kinases play roles in signaling pathways involved in cell proliferation, oncogenic transformation, cell survival, cell migration, and intracellular protein trafficking. This protein contains a lipid kinase catalytic domain as well as a C-terminal C2 domain, a characteristic of class II PI3-kinases. C2 domains act as calcium-dependent phospholipid binding motifs that mediate translocation of proteins to membranes, and may also mediate protein-protein interactions. This gene may play a role in several diseases, including type II diabetes. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2014]. * **<color #00a2e8>UniProt Summary</color>**: Generates phosphatidylinositol 3-phosphate (PtdIns3P) and phosphatidylinositol 3,4-bisphosphate (PtdIns(3,4)P2) that act as second messengers. May play a role in SDF1A-stimulated chemotaxis (By similarity). {ECO:0000250}. <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='Pfam_Domains'>Pfam Domains</button> <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='GO_terms'>GO Terms</button> <modal id='Pfam_Domains' size='lg' title='Pfam Domains'> |PI3K rbd| |PI3 PI4 kinase| |PI3K C2| |PI3Ka| |PX| </modal> <modal id='GO_terms' size='lg' title='GO Terms'> |phosphatidylinositol phosphate kinase activity| |1-phosphatidylinositol-4-phosphate 3-kinase activity| |1-phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase activity| |viral RNA genome replication| |phosphatidylinositol-3-phosphate biosynthetic process| |phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase complex| |viral genome replication| |phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase signaling| |phosphatidylinositol phosphorylation| |lipid phosphorylation| |phosphatidylinositol-mediated signaling| |inositol lipid-mediated signaling| |phosphatidylinositol binding| |phosphatidylinositol biosynthetic process| |phosphatidylinositol metabolic process| |viral life cycle| |lipid modification| |glycerophospholipid biosynthetic process| |glycerolipid biosynthetic process| |phospholipid biosynthetic process| |glycerophospholipid metabolic process| |phospholipid metabolic process| |glycerolipid metabolic process| |organophosphate biosynthetic process| |chemotaxis| |taxis| |lipid biosynthetic process| |viral process| |symbiotic process| |interspecies interaction between organisms| |organophosphate metabolic process| |cellular lipid metabolic process| |cell migration| |localization of cell| |cell motility| |lipid metabolic process| |phosphorylation| |locomotion| |ATP binding| |movement of cell or subcellular component| |intracellular signal transduction| |membrane| </modal> \\ === CRISPR Data === <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Compound_Hit'>Compound Hit</button> <button type='default' size='small' modal='Most_Correlated_Genes'>Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Essential_Avana'>Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)</button> <modal id='Compound_Hit' size='lg' title='Compound Hit'> ^Screen^Score^ |[[:results:exp120|Dimethyl-Sulfoxide 1pc R03 exp120]]|1.95| </modal> <modal id='Most_Correlated_Genes' size='lg' title='Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics'> No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics. </modal> <modal id='Essential_Avana' size='lg' title='Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)'> Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 0/739 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|0/1| |909776.0|0/1| |bile duct|0/28| |blood|0/28| |bone|0/26| |breast|0/33| |central nervous system|0/56| |cervix|0/4| |colorectal|0/17| |esophagus|0/13| |fibroblast|0/1| |gastric|0/16| |kidney|0/21| |liver|0/20| |lung|0/75| |lymphocyte|0/16| |ovary|0/26| |pancreas|0/24| |peripheral nervous system|0/16| |plasma cell|0/15| |prostate|0/1| |skin|0/24| |soft tissue|0/9| |thyroid|0/2| |upper aerodigestive|0/22| |urinary tract|0/29| |uterus|0/5| </modal> == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **<color #00a2e8>Essentiality Rank</color>**: 14564 * **<color #00a2e8>Expression level (log2 read counts)</color>**: -1.76 <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Dist_expr'>Expression Distribution</button> <modal id='Dist_expr' size='lg' title='PIK3C2G Expression in NALM6 Cells: -1.76'> {{:chemogenomics:nalm6 dist.png?nolink |}} </modal> Last modified: 2025/12/10 20:19by 127.0.0.1
