This family member interacts with other nectin-like proteins and with afadin, a filamentous actin-binding protein involved in the regulation of directional motility, cell proliferation and survival. This gene plays a role in ocular development involving the ciliary body. Mutations in this gene are believed to result in congenital ocular defects. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2011]. * **<color #00a2e8>UniProt Summary</color>**: Plays a role in cell-cell adhesion through heterophilic trans-interactions with nectin-like proteins or nectins, such as trans-interaction with NECTIN2 at Sertoli-spermatid junctions. Trans-interaction with PVR induces activation of CDC42 and RAC small G proteins through common signaling molecules such as SRC and RAP1. Also involved in the formation of cell-cell junctions, including adherens junctions and synapses. Induces endocytosis- mediated down-regulation of PVR from the cell surface, resulting in reduction of cell movement and proliferation. Plays a role in the morphology of the ciliary body. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:16216929}. <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='Pfam_Domains'>Pfam Domains</button> <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='GO_terms'>GO Terms</button> <modal id='Pfam_Domains' size='lg' title='Pfam Domains'> |C2-set 2| |I-set| |V-set| </modal> <modal id='GO_terms' size='lg' title='GO Terms'> |protein localization to cell junction| |apical junction complex| |cell-cell contact zone| |lens morphogenesis in camera-type eye| |hippocampal mossy fiber to CA3 synapse| |heterophilic cell-cell adhesion via plasma membrane cell adhesion molecules| |retina morphogenesis in camera-type eye| |integral component of postsynaptic density membrane| |establishment of protein localization to plasma membrane| |cell adhesion molecule binding| |lens development in camera-type eye| |adherens junction organization| |cell-cell adherens junction| |camera-type eye morphogenesis| |retina development in camera-type eye| |eye morphogenesis| |spermatid development| |spermatid differentiation| |homophilic cell adhesion via plasma membrane adhesion molecules| |fertilization| |cell-cell junction| |protein localization to plasma membrane| |signaling receptor activity| |cell junction organization| |protein localization to cell periphery| |germ cell development| |sensory organ morphogenesis| |cell-cell adhesion via plasma-membrane adhesion molecules| |establishment of protein localization to membrane| |axon| |camera-type eye development| |cellular process involved in reproduction in multicellular organism| |eye development| |visual system development| |sensory system development| |dendrite| |protein localization to membrane| |cell-cell adhesion| |spermatogenesis| |sensory organ development| |male gamete generation| |developmental process involved in reproduction| |gamete generation| |multicellular organismal reproductive process| |sexual reproduction| |multicellular organism reproduction| |protein homodimerization activity| |cell adhesion| |biological adhesion| |animal organ morphogenesis| |multi-organism reproductive process| |reproductive process| |reproduction| |cellular protein localization| |cellular macromolecule localization| |establishment of protein localization| |cell development| </modal> \\ === CRISPR Data === <button type='default' size='small' modal='Compound_Hit'>Compound Hit</button> <button type='default' size='small' modal='Most_Correlated_Genes'>Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Essential_Avana'>Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)</button> <modal id='Compound_Hit' size='lg' title='Compound Hit'> No hits were found. </modal> <modal id='Most_Correlated_Genes' size='lg' title='Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics'> No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics. </modal> <modal id='Essential_Avana' size='lg' title='Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)'> Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 0/739 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|0/1| |909776.0|0/1| |bile duct|0/28| |blood|0/28| |bone|0/26| |breast|0/33| |central nervous system|0/56| |cervix|0/4| |colorectal|0/17| |esophagus|0/13| |fibroblast|0/1| |gastric|0/16| |kidney|0/21| |liver|0/20| |lung|0/75| |lymphocyte|0/16| |ovary|0/26| |pancreas|0/24| |peripheral nervous system|0/16| |plasma cell|0/15| |prostate|0/1| |skin|0/24| |soft tissue|0/9| |thyroid|0/2| |upper aerodigestive|0/22| |urinary tract|0/29| |uterus|0/5| </modal> == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **<color #00a2e8>Essentiality Rank</color>**: 18713 * **<color #00a2e8>Expression level (log2 read counts)</color>**: -4.14 <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Dist_expr'>Expression Distribution</button> <modal id='Dist_expr' size='lg' title='PVRL3 Expression in NALM6 Cells: -4.14'> {{:chemogenomics:nalm6 dist.png?nolink |}} </modal> Last modified: 2026/01/07 22:36by 127.0.0.1
