It is expressed in endothelial cells and facilitates the formation of a contractile network within endothelial cells. Depletion of this gene results in an increase in endothelial sprouting, migration, and angiogenesis. This gene is highly expressed in the retina, and is a strong candidate for ocular albinism type 1 syndrome. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2016]. * **<color #00a2e8>UniProt Summary</color>**: May be involved in endothelial cell morphology changes during cell spreading. In the retinal pigment epithelium, may regulate the biogenesis of melanosomes and promote their association with the apical cell surface by inducing gamma-tubulin redistribution (By similarity). {ECO:0000250}. <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='Pfam_Domains'>Pfam Domains</button> <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='GO_terms'>GO Terms</button> <modal id='Pfam_Domains' size='lg' title='Pfam Domains'> |ASD1| |ASD2| |PDZ| </modal> <modal id='GO_terms' size='lg' title='GO Terms'> |eye pigment granule organization| |ligand-gated sodium channel activity| |apical protein localization| |pigment accumulation| |cellular pigment accumulation| |apical junction complex| |establishment of melanosome localization| |lens morphogenesis in camera-type eye| |establishment of pigment granule localization| |melanosome organization| |melanosome localization| |pigment granule localization| |pigment granule organization| |cellular pigmentation| |cortical actin cytoskeleton| |adherens junction| |actin filament bundle assembly| |actin filament bundle organization| |lens development in camera-type eye| |beta-catenin binding| |sodium ion transmembrane transport| |pigmentation| |cell-cell adherens junction| |camera-type eye morphogenesis| |bicellular tight junction| |eye morphogenesis| |sodium ion transport| |establishment of vesicle localization| |vesicle localization| |actin filament binding| |ear development| |actin filament organization| |sensory organ morphogenesis| |actin binding| |vesicle organization| |camera-type eye development| |microtubule| |apical plasma membrane| |eye development| |visual system development| |establishment of organelle localization| |cytoskeleton| |sensory system development| |monovalent inorganic cation transport| |supramolecular fiber organization| |actin cytoskeleton organization| |sensory organ development| |inorganic cation transmembrane transport| |actin filament-based process| |organelle localization| |cation transmembrane transport| |metal ion transport| |inorganic ion transmembrane transport| |cell morphogenesis| |brain development| |head development| |cellular component morphogenesis| |cation transport| |ion transmembrane transport| |animal organ morphogenesis| |cell migration| |central nervous system development| |localization of cell| |cell motility| |cytoskeleton organization| |transmembrane transport| |locomotion| |ion transport| |movement of cell or subcellular component| |establishment of localization in cell| </modal> \\ === CRISPR Data === <button type='default' size='small' modal='Compound_Hit'>Compound Hit</button> <button type='default' size='small' modal='Most_Correlated_Genes'>Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Essential_Avana'>Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)</button> <modal id='Compound_Hit' size='lg' title='Compound Hit'> No hits were found. </modal> <modal id='Most_Correlated_Genes' size='lg' title='Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics'> No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics. </modal> <modal id='Essential_Avana' size='lg' title='Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)'> Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 0/694 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|0/1| |909776.0|0/1| |bile duct|0/28| |blood|0/26| |bone|0/26| |breast|0/30| |central nervous system|0/49| |cervix|0/4| |colorectal|0/17| |esophagus|0/11| |fibroblast|0/1| |gastric|0/14| |kidney|0/18| |liver|0/19| |lung|0/72| |lymphocyte|0/16| |ovary|0/25| |pancreas|0/22| |peripheral nervous system|0/15| |plasma cell|0/12| |prostate|0/1| |skin|0/20| |soft tissue|0/9| |thyroid|0/2| |upper aerodigestive|0/22| |urinary tract|0/28| |uterus|0/5| </modal> == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **<color #00a2e8>Essentiality Rank</color>**: 16971 * **<color #00a2e8>Expression level (log2 read counts)</color>**: 1.61 <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Dist_expr'>Expression Distribution</button> <modal id='Dist_expr' size='lg' title='SHROOM2 Expression in NALM6 Cells: 1.61'> {{:chemogenomics:nalm6 dist.png?nolink |}} </modal> Last modified: 2025/12/10 20:19by 127.0.0.1
