The encoded protein is a common component of many histone acetyltransferase (HAT) complexes and plays a role in transcription and DNA repair by recruiting HAT complexes to chromatin. Deregulation of this gene may play a role in several types of cancer including glioblastoma multiforme. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2011]. * **<color #00a2e8>UniProt Summary</color>**: Adapter protein, which is found in various multiprotein chromatin complexes with histone acetyltransferase activity (HAT), which gives a specific tag for epigenetic transcription activation. Component of the NuA4 histone acetyltransferase complex which is responsible for acetylation of nucleosomal histones H4 and H2A. Plays a central role in MYC transcription activation, and also participates in cell transformation by MYC. Required for p53/TP53-, E2F1- and E2F4-mediated transcription activation. Also involved in transcription activation mediated by the adenovirus E1A, a viral oncoprotein that deregulates transcription of key genes. Probably acts by linking transcription factors such as E1A, MYC or E2F1 to HAT complexes such as STAGA thereby allowing transcription activation. Probably not required in the steps following histone acetylation in processes of transcription activation. May be required for the mitotic checkpoint and normal cell cycle progression. Component of a SWR1- like complex that specifically mediates the removal of histone H2A.Z/H2AFZ from the nucleosome. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:11418595, ECO:0000269|PubMed:12138177, ECO:0000269|PubMed:12660246, ECO:0000269|PubMed:12743606, ECO:0000269|PubMed:14966270, ECO:0000269|PubMed:17967892, ECO:0000269|PubMed:24463511, ECO:0000269|PubMed:9708738}. <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='Pfam_Domains'>Pfam Domains</button> <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='GO_terms'>GO Terms</button> <modal id='Pfam_Domains' size='lg' title='Pfam Domains'> |FAT| |PI3 PI4 kinase| </modal> <modal id='GO_terms' size='lg' title='GO Terms'> |PCAF complex| |Swr1 complex| |STAGA complex| |transcription factor TFTC complex| |SAGA complex| |histone H2A acetylation| |NuA4 histone acetyltransferase complex| |histone deubiquitination| |beta-catenin-TCF complex assembly| |histone H4 acetylation| |transcription coregulator activity| |histone acetylation| |internal peptidyl-lysine acetylation| |peptidyl-lysine acetylation| |internal protein amino acid acetylation| |protein acetylation| |protein acylation| |protein deubiquitination| |protein modification by small protein removal| |peptidyl-lysine modification| |histone modification| |covalent chromatin modification| |DNA repair| |chromatin organization| |DNA metabolic process| |cellular response to DNA damage stimulus| |peptidyl-amino acid modification| |Golgi apparatus| |protein modification by small protein conjugation or removal| |chromosome organization| |proteolysis| |protein-containing complex assembly| |cellular response to stress| |protein-containing complex subunit organization| </modal> \\ === CRISPR Data === <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Compound_Hit'>Compound Hit</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Most_Correlated_Genes'>Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Essential_Avana'>Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)</button> <modal id='Compound_Hit' size='lg' title='Compound Hit'> ^Screen^Score^ |Vemurafenib 6.6μM R08 exp434|-2.25| |Etoposide 1μM R00 exp19|-2.07| |UMK57 1μM R01 exp59|1.73| |HMS-I1 1μM R01 exp46|1.77| |Cerivastatin 0.15μM R05 exp226|1.93| |Dynasore 10μM R04 exp180|1.94| |MS094 2μM R03 exp136|2.12| |Tubacin 1.6μM R07 exp416|2.51| |Olaparib 4μM R08 exp512|3.31| </modal> <modal id='Most_Correlated_Genes' size='lg' title='Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics'> ^Gene^Correlation^ |COPG1|0.411| |C19orf43|0.403| </modal> <modal id='Essential_Avana' size='lg' title='Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)'> Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 711/726 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|1/1| |909776.0|1/1| |bile duct|27/28| |blood|28/28| |bone|25/25| |breast|32/33| |central nervous system|51/56| |cervix|4/4| |colorectal|17/17| |esophagus|13/13| |fibroblast|1/1| |gastric|15/15| |kidney|19/21| |liver|20/20| |lung|74/75| |lymphocyte|14/14| |ovary|25/26| |pancreas|23/24| |peripheral nervous system|16/16| |plasma cell|15/15| |prostate|1/1| |skin|23/24| |soft tissue|7/7| |thyroid|2/2| |upper aerodigestive|22/22| |urinary tract|29/29| |uterus|5/5| </modal> == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **<color #00a2e8>Essentiality Rank</color>**: 402 * **<color #00a2e8>Expression level (log2 read counts)</color>**: 8.61 <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Dist_expr'>Expression Distribution</button> <modal id='Dist_expr' size='lg' title='TRRAP Expression in NALM6 Cells: 8.61'> </modal> Last modified: 2025/12/10 20:19by 127.0.0.1
