The encoded protein is expressed predominantly in endothelial cells of capillaries as well as larger vessels of the placenta where it may mediate the inhibitory effect of angiostatin on tube formation and the migration of endothelial cells toward growth factors during the formation of new blood vessels. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]. * **<color #00a2e8>UniProt Summary</color>**: Plays a central role in tight junction maintenance via the complex formed with ARHGAP17, which acts by regulating the uptake of polarity proteins at tight junctions. Appears to regulate endothelial cell migration and tube formation. May also play a role in the assembly of endothelial cell-cell junctions. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:11257124, ECO:0000269|PubMed:16678097}. <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='Pfam_Domains'>Pfam Domains</button> <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='GO_terms'>GO Terms</button> <modal id='Pfam_Domains' size='lg' title='Pfam Domains'> |Angiomotin C| </modal> <modal id='GO_terms' size='lg' title='GO Terms'> |establishment of cell polarity involved in ameboidal cell migration| |angiostatin binding| |cell migration involved in gastrulation| |hippo signaling| |gastrulation with mouth forming second| |blood vessel endothelial cell migration| |COP9 signalosome| |positive regulation of embryonic development| |negative regulation of GTPase activity| |endocytic vesicle| |endothelial cell migration| |vasculogenesis| |actin filament| |epithelial cell migration| |epithelium migration| |ruffle| |tissue migration| |negative regulation of angiogenesis| |negative regulation of blood vessel morphogenesis| |negative regulation of vasculature development| |establishment of cell polarity| |bicellular tight junction| |regulation of embryonic development| |gastrulation| |ameboidal-type cell migration| |lamellipodium| |establishment or maintenance of cell polarity| |signaling receptor activity| |cytoplasmic vesicle| |regulation of angiogenesis| |angiogenesis| |regulation of vasculature development| |regulation of small GTPase mediated signal transduction| |in utero embryonic development| |external side of plasma membrane| |blood vessel morphogenesis| |negative regulation of hydrolase activity| |regulation of GTPase activity| |blood vessel development| |actin cytoskeleton organization| |vasculature development| |cardiovascular system development| |cell junction| |chemotaxis| |taxis| |embryonic morphogenesis| |actin filament-based process| |chordate embryonic development| |embryo development ending in birth or egg hatching| |tube morphogenesis| |negative regulation of catalytic activity| |tube development| |regulation of cell migration| |circulatory system development| |anatomical structure formation involved in morphogenesis| |regulation of cell motility| |negative regulation of developmental process| |cell migration| |embryo development| |regulation of locomotion| |regulation of cellular component movement| |regulation of anatomical structure morphogenesis| |cell motility| |localization of cell| |cytoskeleton organization| |negative regulation of molecular function| |negative regulation of multicellular organismal process| |regulation of hydrolase activity| |locomotion| |positive regulation of developmental process| |movement of cell or subcellular component| |cellular protein localization| |cellular macromolecule localization| |intracellular signal transduction| |positive regulation of multicellular organismal process| |regulation of intracellular signal transduction| </modal> \\ === CRISPR Data === <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Compound_Hit'>Compound Hit</button> <button type='default' size='small' modal='Most_Correlated_Genes'>Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Essential_Avana'>Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)</button> <modal id='Compound_Hit' size='lg' title='Compound Hit'> ^Screen^Score^ |[[:results:exp354|Diepoxybutane 3μM R07 exp354]]|-1.72| </modal> <modal id='Most_Correlated_Genes' size='lg' title='Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics'> No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics. </modal> <modal id='Essential_Avana' size='lg' title='Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)'> Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 0/694 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|0/1| |909776.0|0/1| |bile duct|0/28| |blood|0/26| |bone|0/26| |breast|0/30| |central nervous system|0/49| |cervix|0/4| |colorectal|0/17| |esophagus|0/11| |fibroblast|0/1| |gastric|0/14| |kidney|0/18| |liver|0/19| |lung|0/72| |lymphocyte|0/16| |ovary|0/25| |pancreas|0/22| |peripheral nervous system|0/15| |plasma cell|0/12| |prostate|0/1| |skin|0/20| |soft tissue|0/9| |thyroid|0/2| |upper aerodigestive|0/22| |urinary tract|0/28| |uterus|0/5| </modal> == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **<color #00a2e8>Essentiality Rank</color>**: 16044 * **<color #00a2e8>Expression level (log2 read counts)</color>**: 4.36 <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Dist_expr'>Expression Distribution</button> <modal id='Dist_expr' size='lg' title='AMOT Expression in NALM6 Cells: 4.36'> {{:chemogenomics:nalm6 dist.png?nolink |}} </modal> Last modified: 2026/01/07 22:36by 127.0.0.1
