Cyclins function as positive regulators of cyclin-dependent kinases (CDKs), and thereby play an essential role in the control of the cell cycle. Different cyclins exhibit distinct expression and degradation patterns, which contribute to the temporal coordination of each mitotic event. Studies of similar genes in chicken and drosophila suggest that this cyclin may associate with CDC2 and CDK2 kinases, and may be required for proper spindle reorganization and restoration of the interphase nucleus. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2011]. * **<color #00a2e8>UniProt Summary</color>**: Cyclins are positive regulatory subunits of the cyclin- dependent kinases (CDKs), and thereby play an essential role in the control of the cell cycle, notably via their destruction during cell division. Its tissue specificity suggest that it may be required during early meiotic prophase I. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:12185076}. <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='Pfam_Domains'>Pfam Domains</button> <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='GO_terms'>GO Terms</button> <modal id='Pfam_Domains' size='lg' title='Pfam Domains'> |Cyclin N| |Cyclin C| </modal> <modal id='GO_terms' size='lg' title='GO Terms'> |cyclin-dependent protein kinase holoenzyme complex| |cyclin-dependent protein serine/threonine kinase regulator activity| |regulation of cyclin-dependent protein serine/threonine kinase activity| |regulation of cyclin-dependent protein kinase activity| |regulation of G2/M transition of mitotic cell cycle| |regulation of cell cycle G2/M phase transition| |meiotic cell cycle| |protein kinase activity| |mitotic cell cycle phase transition| |cell cycle phase transition| |nuclear speck| |regulation of mitotic cell cycle phase transition| |regulation of cell cycle phase transition| |protein kinase binding| |centrosome| |cell division| |regulation of protein serine/threonine kinase activity| |mitotic cell cycle process| |regulation of mitotic cell cycle| |mitotic cell cycle| |regulation of cell cycle process| |regulation of protein kinase activity| |regulation of kinase activity| |protein phosphorylation| |regulation of transferase activity| |cell cycle process| |regulation of cell cycle| |phosphorylation| |cell cycle| |reproductive process| |reproduction| |regulation of protein phosphorylation| |regulation of phosphorylation| |regulation of phosphate metabolic process| |regulation of phosphorus metabolic process| |regulation of protein modification process| </modal> \\ === CRISPR Data === <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Compound_Hit'>Compound Hit</button> <button type='default' size='small' modal='Most_Correlated_Genes'>Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Essential_Avana'>Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)</button> <modal id='Compound_Hit' size='lg' title='Compound Hit'> ^Screen^Score^ |SGC0649 7μM R03 exp150|-2.15| |OICR-9429 10μM R03 exp142|-1.97| |A-395 10μM R05 exp218|-1.96| |Dexamethasone 0.006 to 0.015μM on day4 R07 exp352|-1.93| |Dimethyloxaloylglycine 100μM R05 exp229|-1.81| </modal> <modal id='Most_Correlated_Genes' size='lg' title='Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics'> No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics. </modal> <modal id='Essential_Avana' size='lg' title='Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)'> Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 0/694 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|0/1| |909776.0|0/1| |bile duct|0/28| |blood|0/26| |bone|0/26| |breast|0/30| |central nervous system|0/49| |cervix|0/4| |colorectal|0/17| |esophagus|0/11| |fibroblast|0/1| |gastric|0/14| |kidney|0/18| |liver|0/19| |lung|0/72| |lymphocyte|0/16| |ovary|0/25| |pancreas|0/22| |peripheral nervous system|0/15| |plasma cell|0/12| |prostate|0/1| |skin|0/20| |soft tissue|0/9| |thyroid|0/2| |upper aerodigestive|0/22| |urinary tract|0/28| |uterus|0/5| </modal> == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **<color #00a2e8>Essentiality Rank</color>**: 6198 * **<color #00a2e8>Expression level (log2 read counts)</color>**: 0.18 <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Dist_expr'>Expression Distribution</button> <modal id='Dist_expr' size='lg' title='CCNB3 Expression in NALM6 Cells: 0.18'> </modal> Last modified: 2026/01/07 22:36by 127.0.0.1
