It mediates the cellular uptake of transcobalamin bound cobalamin (vitamin B12), and is involved in B-cell proliferation and immunoglobulin secretion. Mutations in this gene are associated with methylmalonic aciduria. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, Jan 2011]. * **<color #00a2e8>UniProt Summary</color>**: Receptor for transcobalamin saturated with cobalamin (TCbl) (PubMed:18779389). Plays an important role in cobalamin uptake (PubMed:18779389, PubMed:20524213). Plasma membrane protein that is expressed on follicular dendritic cells (FDC) and mediates interaction with germinal center B cells (PubMed:10727470). Functions as costimulator to promote B cell responses to antigenic stimuli; promotes B cell differentiation and proliferation (PubMed:10727470, PubMed:11418631). Germinal center-B (GC-B) cells differentiate into memory B-cells and plasma cells (PC) through interaction with T-cells and follicular dendritic cells (FDC) (PubMed:11418631). CD320 augments the proliferation of PC precursors generated by IL-10 (PubMed:11418631). {ECO:0000269|PubMed:10727470, ECO:0000269|PubMed:11418631, ECO:0000269|PubMed:18779389, ECO:0000269|PubMed:20524213}. <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='Pfam_Domains'>Pfam Domains</button> <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='GO_terms'>GO Terms</button> <modal id='Pfam_Domains' size='lg' title='Pfam Domains'> |Ldl recept a| </modal> <modal id='GO_terms' size='lg' title='GO Terms'> |ATPase-coupled vitamin B12 transmembrane transporter activity| |B cell costimulation| |cobalamin transport| |cobalamin binding| |regulation of vitamin metabolic process| |cobalamin metabolic process| |vitamin transport| |positive regulation of B cell proliferation| |cofactor transport| |lymphocyte costimulation| |tetrapyrrole metabolic process| |regulation of B cell proliferation| |water-soluble vitamin metabolic process| |vitamin metabolic process| |positive regulation of lymphocyte proliferation| |positive regulation of mononuclear cell proliferation| |positive regulation of leukocyte proliferation| |drug transport| |growth factor activity| |positive regulation of B cell activation| |regulation of B cell activation| |regulation of lymphocyte proliferation| |regulation of mononuclear cell proliferation| |endosome membrane| |regulation of leukocyte proliferation| |positive regulation of lymphocyte activation| |positive regulation of leukocyte activation| |positive regulation of cell activation| |regulation of small molecule metabolic process| |cofactor metabolic process| |drug metabolic process| |regulation of lymphocyte activation| |regulation of leukocyte activation| |regulation of cell activation| |calcium ion binding| |positive regulation of cell population proliferation| |endoplasmic reticulum| |response to drug| |positive regulation of immune system process| |integral component of plasma membrane| |regulation of cell population proliferation| |regulation of immune system process| |small molecule metabolic process| |nitrogen compound transport| |membrane| </modal> \\ === CRISPR Data === <button type='default' size='small' modal='Compound_Hit'>Compound Hit</button> <button type='default' size='small' modal='Most_Correlated_Genes'>Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Essential_Avana'>Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)</button> <modal id='Compound_Hit' size='lg' title='Compound Hit'> No hits were found. </modal> <modal id='Most_Correlated_Genes' size='lg' title='Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics'> No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics. </modal> <modal id='Essential_Avana' size='lg' title='Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)'> Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 0/739 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|0/1| |909776.0|0/1| |bile duct|0/28| |blood|0/28| |bone|0/26| |breast|0/33| |central nervous system|0/56| |cervix|0/4| |colorectal|0/17| |esophagus|0/13| |fibroblast|0/1| |gastric|0/16| |kidney|0/21| |liver|0/20| |lung|0/75| |lymphocyte|0/16| |ovary|0/26| |pancreas|0/24| |peripheral nervous system|0/16| |plasma cell|0/15| |prostate|0/1| |skin|0/24| |soft tissue|0/9| |thyroid|0/2| |upper aerodigestive|0/22| |urinary tract|0/29| |uterus|0/5| </modal> == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **<color #00a2e8>Essentiality Rank</color>**: 5847 * **<color #00a2e8>Expression level (log2 read counts)</color>**: 5.98 <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Dist_expr'>Expression Distribution</button> <modal id='Dist_expr' size='lg' title='CD320 Expression in NALM6 Cells: 5.98'> {{:chemogenomics:nalm6 dist.png?nolink |}} </modal> Last modified: 2026/01/07 22:36by 127.0.0.1
