The encoded protein is one of two adenosine deaminases found in humans, which regulate levels of the signaling molecule, adenosine. The encoded protein is secreted from monocytes undergoing differentiation and may regulate cell proliferation and differentiation. This gene may be responsible for some of the phenotypic features associated with cat eye syndrome. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2013]. * **<color #00a2e8>UniProt Summary</color>**: Adenosine deaminase that may contribute to the degradation of extracellular adenosine, a signaling molecule that controls a variety of cellular responses. Requires elevated adenosine levels for optimal enzyme activity. Binds to cell surfaces via proteoglycans and may play a role in the regulation of cell proliferation and differentiation, independently of its enzyme activity. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:20147294, ECO:0000269|PubMed:20453107}. <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='Pfam_Domains'>Pfam Domains</button> <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='GO_terms'>GO Terms</button> <modal id='Pfam_Domains' size='lg' title='Pfam Domains'> |A deaminase| |A deaminase N| </modal> <modal id='GO_terms' size='lg' title='GO Terms'> |adenosine receptor binding| |inosine biosynthetic process| |adenosine catabolic process| |inosine metabolic process| |adenosine deaminase activity| |purine nucleoside catabolic process| |adenosine metabolic process| |purine ribonucleoside catabolic process| |proteoglycan binding| |purine nucleoside biosynthetic process| |ribonucleoside catabolic process| |ribonucleoside biosynthetic process| |purine ribonucleoside biosynthetic process| |nucleoside catabolic process| |nucleoside biosynthetic process| |glycosyl compound biosynthetic process| |glycosyl compound catabolic process| |nucleobase-containing small molecule catabolic process| |purine-containing compound catabolic process| |purine ribonucleoside metabolic process| |purine nucleoside metabolic process| |ribonucleoside metabolic process| |azurophil granule lumen| |nucleobase-containing small molecule biosynthetic process| |nucleoside metabolic process| |glycosyl compound metabolic process| |drug catabolic process| |growth factor activity| |heparin binding| |purine-containing compound biosynthetic process| |carbohydrate derivative catabolic process| |purine-containing compound metabolic process| |nucleobase-containing compound catabolic process| |heterocycle catabolic process| |cellular nitrogen compound catabolic process| |small molecule catabolic process| |aromatic compound catabolic process| |organic cyclic compound catabolic process| |neutrophil degranulation| |neutrophil activation involved in immune response| |neutrophil mediated immunity| |drug metabolic process| |neutrophil activation| |granulocyte activation| |leukocyte degranulation| |myeloid leukocyte mediated immunity| |myeloid cell activation involved in immune response| |nucleobase-containing small molecule metabolic process| |myeloid leukocyte activation| |small molecule biosynthetic process| |carbohydrate derivative biosynthetic process| |leukocyte activation involved in immune response| |cell activation involved in immune response| |regulated exocytosis| |leukocyte mediated immunity| |exocytosis| |zinc ion binding| |protein homodimerization activity| |leukocyte activation| |secretion by cell| |carbohydrate derivative metabolic process| |export from cell| |organonitrogen compound catabolic process| |cell activation| |immune effector process| |nucleobase-containing compound biosynthetic process| |secretion| |heterocycle biosynthetic process| |aromatic compound biosynthetic process| |organic cyclic compound biosynthetic process| |organonitrogen compound biosynthetic process| |extracellular space| |cellular nitrogen compound biosynthetic process| |small molecule metabolic process| |organic substance catabolic process| |cellular catabolic process| |immune response| |extracellular region| |vesicle-mediated transport| </modal> \\ === CRISPR Data === <button type='default' size='small' modal='Compound_Hit'>Compound Hit</button> <button type='default' size='small' modal='Most_Correlated_Genes'>Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Essential_Avana'>Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)</button> <modal id='Compound_Hit' size='lg' title='Compound Hit'> No hits were found. </modal> <modal id='Most_Correlated_Genes' size='lg' title='Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics'> No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics. </modal> <modal id='Essential_Avana' size='lg' title='Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)'> Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 0/739 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|0/1| |909776.0|0/1| |bile duct|0/28| |blood|0/28| |bone|0/26| |breast|0/33| |central nervous system|0/56| |cervix|0/4| |colorectal|0/17| |esophagus|0/13| |fibroblast|0/1| |gastric|0/16| |kidney|0/21| |liver|0/20| |lung|0/75| |lymphocyte|0/16| |ovary|0/26| |pancreas|0/24| |peripheral nervous system|0/16| |plasma cell|0/15| |prostate|0/1| |skin|0/24| |soft tissue|0/9| |thyroid|0/2| |upper aerodigestive|0/22| |urinary tract|0/29| |uterus|0/5| </modal> == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **<color #00a2e8>Essentiality Rank</color>**: 8583 * **<color #00a2e8>Expression level (log2 read counts)</color>**: 3.33 <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Dist_expr'>Expression Distribution</button> <modal id='Dist_expr' size='lg' title='CECR1 Expression in NALM6 Cells: 3.33'> {{:chemogenomics:nalm6 dist.png?nolink |}} </modal> Last modified: 2026/01/07 22:36by 127.0.0.1
