CAF-I is composed of three protein subunits, p50, p60, and p150. The protein encoded by this gene corresponds to the p60 subunit and is required for chromatin assembly after replication. The encoded protein is differentially phosphorylated in a cell cycle-dependent manner. In addition, it is normally found in the nucleus except during mitosis, when it is released into the cytoplasm. This protein is a member of the WD-repeat HIR1 family and may also be involved in DNA repair. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]. * **<color #00a2e8>UniProt Summary</color>**: Complex that is thought to mediate chromatin assembly in DNA replication and DNA repair. Assembles histone octamers onto replicating DNA in vitro. CAF-1 performs the first step of the nucleosome assembly process, bringing newly synthesized histones H3 and H4 to replicating DNA; histones H2A/H2B can bind to this chromatin precursor subsequent to DNA replication to complete the histone octamer. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:9813080}. <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='Pfam_Domains'>Pfam Domains</button> <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='GO_terms'>GO Terms</button> <modal id='Pfam_Domains' size='lg' title='Pfam Domains'> |WD40| </modal> <modal id='GO_terms' size='lg' title='GO Terms'> |CAF-1 complex| |DNA replication-dependent nucleosome assembly| |DNA replication-dependent nucleosome organization| |nucleosome assembly| |histone binding| |unfolded protein binding| |chromatin assembly| |chromatin assembly or disassembly| |nucleosome organization| |DNA packaging| |protein-DNA complex assembly| |DNA replication| |nuclear chromatin| |protein-DNA complex subunit organization| |DNA conformation change| |chromatin binding| |DNA repair| |protein-containing complex| |chromatin organization| |DNA metabolic process| |cellular response to DNA damage stimulus| |cellular protein-containing complex assembly| |chromosome organization| |cell cycle| |protein-containing complex assembly| |cellular response to stress| |cellular macromolecule biosynthetic process| |macromolecule biosynthetic process| |protein-containing complex subunit organization| </modal> \\ === CRISPR Data === <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Compound_Hit'>Compound Hit</button> <button type='default' size='small' modal='Most_Correlated_Genes'>Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Essential_Avana'>Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)</button> <modal id='Compound_Hit' size='lg' title='Compound Hit'> ^Screen^Score^ |GSK-J5 1.5μM R08 exp484|-1.87| |Rapamycin 2μM R07 exp306|-1.85| |ABT-702 5μM plus Dimethyloxaloylglycine 11μM R07 exp319|2.26| </modal> <modal id='Most_Correlated_Genes' size='lg' title='Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics'> No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics. </modal> <modal id='Essential_Avana' size='lg' title='Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)'> Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 725/726 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|1/1| |909776.0|1/1| |bile duct|28/28| |blood|28/28| |bone|25/25| |breast|33/33| |central nervous system|56/56| |cervix|4/4| |colorectal|17/17| |esophagus|13/13| |fibroblast|1/1| |gastric|15/15| |kidney|21/21| |liver|20/20| |lung|75/75| |lymphocyte|14/14| |ovary|26/26| |pancreas|24/24| |peripheral nervous system|16/16| |plasma cell|15/15| |prostate|1/1| |skin|24/24| |soft tissue|6/7| |thyroid|2/2| |upper aerodigestive|22/22| |urinary tract|29/29| |uterus|5/5| </modal> == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **<color #00a2e8>Essentiality Rank</color>**: 1998 * **<color #00a2e8>Expression level (log2 read counts)</color>**: 6.2 <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Dist_expr'>Expression Distribution</button> <modal id='Dist_expr' size='lg' title='CHAF1B Expression in NALM6 Cells: 6.2'> </modal> Last modified: 2026/01/07 22:36by 127.0.0.1
