Binds to partially double- stranded RNAs (dsRNAs) in order to unwind RNA secondary structures. Unwinding is promoted in the presence of single-strand binding proteins. Mediates also RNA duplex formation thereby displacing the single-strand RNA binding protein. ATP and ADP modulate its activity: ATP binding and hydrolysis by DDX42 triggers RNA strand separation, whereas the ADP-bound form of the protein triggers annealing of complementary RNA strands. Involved in the survival of cells by interacting with TP53BP2 and thereby counteracting the apoptosis-stimulating activity of TP53BP2. Relocalizes TP53BP2 to the cytoplasm. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:16397294, ECO:0000269|PubMed:19377511}. <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='Pfam_Domains'>Pfam Domains</button> <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='GO_terms'>GO Terms</button> <modal id='Pfam_Domains' size='lg' title='Pfam Domains'> |DEAD| |Helicase C| </modal> <modal id='GO_terms' size='lg' title='GO Terms'> |Cajal body| |RNA helicase activity| |RNA splicing, via transesterification reactions with bulged adenosine as nucleophile| |mRNA splicing, via spliceosome| |RNA splicing, via transesterification reactions| |RNA splicing| |nuclear speck| |mRNA processing| |mRNA metabolic process| |RNA processing| |RNA binding| |ATP binding| |regulation of apoptotic process| |regulation of programmed cell death| |RNA metabolic process| |regulation of cell death| |membrane| |gene expression| </modal> \\ === CRISPR Data === <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Compound_Hit'>Compound Hit</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Most_Correlated_Genes'>Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Essential_Avana'>Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)</button> <modal id='Compound_Hit' size='lg' title='Compound Hit'> ^Screen^Score^ |Resveratrol 16μM R03 exp147|-1.83| |Latrunculin-B 10μM R07 exp374|1.79| |AICAR 240μM R05 exp211|2.05| |Cytochalasin-B 5μM R07 exp349|2.36| |BVD-523 15μM R02 exp67|2.47| |Tozasertib 0.1μM R07 exp414|2.58| |RO-3307 4.7μM R02 exp80|2.98| </modal> <modal id='Most_Correlated_Genes' size='lg' title='Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics'> ^Gene^Correlation^ |PPP6C|0.5| |TUBD1|0.467| |PIK3C3|0.429| |BAK1|0.426| |C14orf80|0.424| |SRP14|0.424| |FAF2|0.423| |C16orf59|0.413| |TRIM28|0.412| |PFN1|0.408| </modal> <modal id='Essential_Avana' size='lg' title='Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)'> Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 593/739 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|0/1| |909776.0|1/1| |bile duct|20/28| |blood|19/28| |bone|20/26| |breast|28/33| |central nervous system|43/56| |cervix|1/4| |colorectal|15/17| |esophagus|12/13| |fibroblast|1/1| |gastric|13/16| |kidney|19/21| |liver|17/20| |lung|57/75| |lymphocyte|12/16| |ovary|21/26| |pancreas|20/24| |peripheral nervous system|12/16| |plasma cell|10/15| |prostate|1/1| |skin|21/24| |soft tissue|8/9| |thyroid|1/2| |upper aerodigestive|19/22| |urinary tract|26/29| |uterus|4/5| </modal> == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **<color #00a2e8>Essentiality Rank</color>**: 1984 * **<color #00a2e8>Expression level (log2 read counts)</color>**: 8.1 <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Dist_expr'>Expression Distribution</button> <modal id='Dist_expr' size='lg' title='DDX42 Expression in NALM6 Cells: 8.1'> </modal> Last modified: 2026/01/07 22:36by 127.0.0.1
