DOC2A and DOC2B are encoded by different genes; these genes are at times confused with the unrelated DAB2 gene which was initially named DOC-2. DOC2B is expressed ubiquitously and is suggested to be involved in Ca(2+)-dependent intracellular vesicle trafficking in various types of cells. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]. * **<color #00a2e8>UniProt Summary</color>**: Calcium sensor which positively regulates SNARE- dependent fusion of vesicles with membranes. Binds phospholipids in a calcium-dependent manner and may act at the priming stage of fusion by modifying membrane curvature to stimulate fusion. Involved in calcium-triggered exocytosis in chromaffin cells and calcium-dependent spontaneous release of neurotransmitter in absence of action potentials in neuronal cells. Involved both in glucose-stimulated insulin secretion in pancreatic cells and insulin-dependent GLUT4 transport to the plasma membrane in adipocytes (By similarity). {ECO:0000250, ECO:0000269|PubMed:9804756}. <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='Pfam_Domains'>Pfam Domains</button> <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='GO_terms'>GO Terms</button> <modal id='Pfam_Domains' size='lg' title='Pfam Domains'> |C2| </modal> <modal id='GO_terms' size='lg' title='GO Terms'> |spontaneous neurotransmitter secretion| |spontaneous synaptic transmission| |positive regulation of vesicle fusion| |calcium ion-regulated exocytosis of neurotransmitter| |positive regulation of calcium ion-dependent exocytosis| |regulation of vesicle fusion| |calcium-ion regulated exocytosis| |regulation of calcium ion-dependent exocytosis| |SNARE complex| |positive regulation of regulated secretory pathway| |syntaxin binding| |calcium-dependent phospholipid binding| |synaptic vesicle exocytosis| |positive regulation of insulin secretion| |positive regulation of exocytosis| |presynapse| |positive regulation of peptide hormone secretion| |signal release from synapse| |neurotransmitter secretion| |synaptic vesicle cycle| |positive regulation of hormone secretion| |vesicle-mediated transport in synapse| |regulation of regulated secretory pathway| |signal release| |regulation of insulin secretion| |neurotransmitter transport| |regulation of peptide hormone secretion| |regulation of exocytosis| |regulation of hormone secretion| |positive regulation of protein secretion| |positive regulation of peptide secretion| |regulation of neurotransmitter levels| |positive regulation of secretion by cell| |anterograde trans-synaptic signaling| |chemical synaptic transmission| |positive regulation of protein transport| |positive regulation of secretion| |trans-synaptic signaling| |positive regulation of establishment of protein localization| |synaptic signaling| |regulation of protein secretion| |regulation of peptide secretion| |regulation of hormone levels| |regulation of vesicle-mediated transport| |positive regulation of organelle organization| |regulated exocytosis| |regulation of protein transport| |calcium ion binding| |regulation of peptide transport| |regulation of establishment of protein localization| |regulation of secretion by cell| |exocytosis| |regulation of secretion| |positive regulation of transport| |secretion by cell| |regulation of protein localization| |export from cell| |cell-cell signaling| |secretion| |positive regulation of cellular component organization| |regulation of organelle organization| |positive regulation of cell communication| |positive regulation of signaling| |establishment of localization in cell| |regulation of transport| |vesicle-mediated transport| </modal> \\ === CRISPR Data === <button type='default' size='small' modal='Compound_Hit'>Compound Hit</button> <button type='default' size='small' modal='Most_Correlated_Genes'>Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Essential_Avana'>Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)</button> <modal id='Compound_Hit' size='lg' title='Compound Hit'> No hits were found. </modal> <modal id='Most_Correlated_Genes' size='lg' title='Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics'> No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics. </modal> <modal id='Essential_Avana' size='lg' title='Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)'> Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: N/A ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ </modal> == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **<color #00a2e8>Essentiality Rank</color>**: 8299 * **<color #00a2e8>Expression level (log2 read counts)</color>**: 2.19 <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Dist_expr'>Expression Distribution</button> <modal id='Dist_expr' size='lg' title='DOC2B Expression in NALM6 Cells: 2.19'> {{:chemogenomics:nalm6 dist.png?nolink |}} </modal> Last modified: 2026/01/07 22:36by 127.0.0.1
