Seems to act as a chaperone for BCL2, targets it to the mitochondria and modulates its phosphorylation state. The BCL2/FKBP8/calmodulin/calcium complex probably interferes with the binding of BCL2 to its targets. The active form of FKBP8 may therefore play a role in the regulation of apoptosis. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:12510191, ECO:0000269|PubMed:15757646, ECO:0000269|PubMed:16176796}. <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='Pfam_Domains'>Pfam Domains</button> <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='GO_terms'>GO Terms</button> <modal id='Pfam_Domains' size='lg' title='Pfam Domains'> |TPR 1| |FKBP C| |TPR 2| </modal> <modal id='GO_terms' size='lg' title='GO Terms'> |dorsal/ventral neural tube patterning| |positive regulation of BMP signaling pathway| |disordered domain specific binding| |neural tube patterning| |peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerase activity| |protein peptidyl-prolyl isomerization| |peptidyl-proline modification| |smoothened signaling pathway| |dorsal/ventral pattern formation| |multicellular organism growth| |cell fate specification| |regulation of BMP signaling pathway| |mitochondrial membrane| |positive regulation of transmembrane receptor protein serine/threonine kinase signaling pathway| |integral component of endoplasmic reticulum membrane| |neural tube development| |regulation of transmembrane receptor protein serine/threonine kinase signaling pathway| |cell fate commitment| |regulation of cellular response to growth factor stimulus| |camera-type eye development| |regionalization| |eye development| |visual system development| |sensory system development| |developmental growth| |growth| |negative regulation of protein phosphorylation| |pattern specification process| |negative regulation of phosphorylation| |sensory organ development| |negative regulation of phosphate metabolic process| |negative regulation of phosphorus metabolic process| |negative regulation of protein modification process| |protein-containing complex| |chordate embryonic development| |embryo development ending in birth or egg hatching| |viral process| |symbiotic process| |interspecies interaction between organisms| |tube development| |peptidyl-amino acid modification| |negative regulation of apoptotic process| |negative regulation of programmed cell death| |apoptotic process| |embryo development| |negative regulation of cell death| |endoplasmic reticulum| |negative regulation of cellular protein metabolic process| |programmed cell death| |identical protein binding| |cell death| |negative regulation of protein metabolic process| |epithelium development| |mitochondrion| |regulation of protein phosphorylation| |regulation of apoptotic process| |regulation of programmed cell death| |regulation of phosphorylation| |positive regulation of signal transduction| |regulation of cell death| |intracellular signal transduction| |tissue development| |regulation of phosphate metabolic process| |regulation of phosphorus metabolic process| |positive regulation of cell communication| |positive regulation of signaling| |regulation of protein modification process| |membrane| </modal> \\ === CRISPR Data === <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Compound_Hit'>Compound Hit</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Most_Correlated_Genes'>Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Essential_Avana'>Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)</button> <modal id='Compound_Hit' size='lg' title='Compound Hit'> ^Screen^Score^ |THZ531 0.11 to 0.125μM on day4 R07 exp410|-3.28| |THZ531 0.11 to 0.125 to 0.35μM on day4 then day6 R07 exp412|-3.17| |THZ531 0.11μM R07 exp409|-2.98| |THZ531 0.11 to 0.175μM on day4 R07 exp413|-2.57| |THZ531 0.225μM R08 exp444|-1.75| </modal> <modal id='Most_Correlated_Genes' size='lg' title='Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics'> ^Gene^Correlation^ |POLR2J3|0.425| </modal> <modal id='Essential_Avana' size='lg' title='Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)'> Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 0/739 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|0/1| |909776.0|0/1| |bile duct|0/28| |blood|0/28| |bone|0/26| |breast|0/33| |central nervous system|0/56| |cervix|0/4| |colorectal|0/17| |esophagus|0/13| |fibroblast|0/1| |gastric|0/16| |kidney|0/21| |liver|0/20| |lung|0/75| |lymphocyte|0/16| |ovary|0/26| |pancreas|0/24| |peripheral nervous system|0/16| |plasma cell|0/15| |prostate|0/1| |skin|0/24| |soft tissue|0/9| |thyroid|0/2| |upper aerodigestive|0/22| |urinary tract|0/29| |uterus|0/5| </modal> == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **<color #00a2e8>Essentiality Rank</color>**: 4124 * **<color #00a2e8>Expression level (log2 read counts)</color>**: 6.26 <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Dist_expr'>Expression Distribution</button> <modal id='Dist_expr' size='lg' title='FKBP8 Expression in NALM6 Cells: 6.26'> </modal> Last modified: 2026/01/07 22:36by 127.0.0.1
