This gene encodes a receptor-independent activator of G protein signaling, which is one of several factors that influence the basal activity of G-protein signaling systems. The protein contains seven tetratricopeptide repeats in its N-terminal half and four G-protein regulatory (GPR) motifs in its C-terminal half. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2011]. * **<color #00a2e8>UniProt Summary</color>**: Guanine nucleotide dissociation inhibitor (GDI) which functions as a receptor-independent activator of heterotrimeric G- protein signaling. Keeps G(i/o) alpha subunit in its GDP-bound form thus uncoupling heterotrimeric G-proteins signaling from G protein-coupled receptors. Controls spindle orientation and asymmetric cell fate of cerebral cortical progenitors. May also be involved in macroautophagy in intestinal cells. May play a role in drug addiction. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:11024022, ECO:0000269|PubMed:12642577}. <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='Pfam_Domains'>Pfam Domains</button> <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='GO_terms'>GO Terms</button> <modal id='Pfam_Domains' size='lg' title='Pfam Domains'> |GoLoco| </modal> <modal id='GO_terms' size='lg' title='GO Terms'> |negative regulation of guanyl-nucleotide exchange factor activity| |regulation of guanyl-nucleotide exchange factor activity| |GDP-dissociation inhibitor activity| |regulation of GTP binding| |negative regulation of GTPase activity| |positive regulation of macroautophagy| |negative regulation of protein binding| |positive regulation of autophagy| |cell cortex| |negative regulation of binding| |regulation of macroautophagy| |positive regulation of binding| |regulation of protein binding| |regulation of autophagy| |positive regulation of cellular catabolic process| |regulation of binding| |positive regulation of catabolic process| |negative regulation of hydrolase activity| |regulation of GTPase activity| |protein-containing complex| |Golgi membrane| |negative regulation of catalytic activity| |regulation of cellular catabolic process| |endoplasmic reticulum membrane| |regulation of catabolic process| |negative regulation of molecular function| |regulation of hydrolase activity| |positive regulation of molecular function| </modal> \\ === CRISPR Data === <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Compound_Hit'>Compound Hit</button> <button type='default' size='small' modal='Most_Correlated_Genes'>Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Essential_Avana'>Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)</button> <modal id='Compound_Hit' size='lg' title='Compound Hit'> ^Screen^Score^ |[[:results:exp48|Mubritinib 0.2μM R01 exp48]]|1.77| |[[:results:exp40|2-Methoxyestradiol 0.2μM R01 exp40]]|1.93| </modal> <modal id='Most_Correlated_Genes' size='lg' title='Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics'> No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics. </modal> <modal id='Essential_Avana' size='lg' title='Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)'> Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 0/739 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|0/1| |909776.0|0/1| |bile duct|0/28| |blood|0/28| |bone|0/26| |breast|0/33| |central nervous system|0/56| |cervix|0/4| |colorectal|0/17| |esophagus|0/13| |fibroblast|0/1| |gastric|0/16| |kidney|0/21| |liver|0/20| |lung|0/75| |lymphocyte|0/16| |ovary|0/26| |pancreas|0/24| |peripheral nervous system|0/16| |plasma cell|0/15| |prostate|0/1| |skin|0/24| |soft tissue|0/9| |thyroid|0/2| |upper aerodigestive|0/22| |urinary tract|0/29| |uterus|0/5| </modal> == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **<color #00a2e8>Essentiality Rank</color>**: 5155 * **<color #00a2e8>Expression level (log2 read counts)</color>**: 5.64 <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Dist_expr'>Expression Distribution</button> <modal id='Dist_expr' size='lg' title='GPSM1 Expression in NALM6 Cells: 5.64'> {{:chemogenomics:nalm6 dist.png?nolink |}} </modal> Last modified: 2026/01/07 22:36by 127.0.0.1
