The hnRNPs are RNA binding proteins and they complex with heterogeneous nuclear RNA (hnRNA). These proteins are associated with pre-mRNAs in the nucleus and appear to influence pre-mRNA processing and other aspects of mRNA metabolism and transport. While all of the hnRNPs are present in the nucleus, some seem to shuttle between the nucleus and the cytoplasm. The hnRNP proteins have distinct nucleic acid binding properties. The protein encoded by this gene has three repeats of quasi-RRM domains that bind to RNAs. This protein also constitutes a monomer of the N-acetylglucosamine-specific receptor which is postulated to trigger selective recycling of immature GlcNAc-bearing thyroglobulin molecules. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2011]. * **<color #00a2e8>UniProt Summary</color>**: Pre-mRNA binding protein in vivo, binds avidly to poly(G) and poly(U) RNA homopolymers in vitro. Involved in splicing. Acts as a receptor for carcinoembryonic antigen in Kupffer cells, may initiate a series of signaling events leading to tyrosine phosphorylation of proteins and induction of IL-1 alpha, IL-6, IL-10 and tumor necrosis factor alpha cytokines. <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='Pfam_Domains'>Pfam Domains</button> <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='GO_terms'>GO Terms</button> <modal id='Pfam_Domains' size='lg' title='Pfam Domains'> |HnRNP M| |RRM 1| </modal> <modal id='GO_terms' size='lg' title='GO Terms'> |regulation of mRNA stability involved in response to oxidative stress| |regulation of mRNA stability involved in response to stress| |paraspeckles| |post-mRNA release spliceosomal complex| |alternative mRNA splicing, via spliceosome| |fibroblast growth factor receptor signaling pathway| |catalytic step 2 spliceosome| |spliceosomal complex| |cellular response to fibroblast growth factor stimulus| |nuclear matrix| |response to fibroblast growth factor| |ribonucleoprotein complex| |mRNA binding| |regulation of mRNA stability| |regulation of RNA stability| |regulation of mRNA catabolic process| |protein domain specific binding| |RNA splicing, via transesterification reactions with bulged adenosine as nucleophile| |mRNA splicing, via spliceosome| |RNA splicing, via transesterification reactions| |regulation of mRNA metabolic process| |collagen-containing extracellular matrix| |response to oxidative stress| |RNA splicing| |mRNA processing| |cellular response to growth factor stimulus| |transmembrane receptor protein tyrosine kinase signaling pathway| |posttranscriptional regulation of gene expression| |response to growth factor| |mRNA metabolic process| |enzyme linked receptor protein signaling pathway| |regulation of cellular catabolic process| |nucleolus| |RNA processing| |regulation of catabolic process| |cellular response to endogenous stimulus| |RNA binding| |response to endogenous stimulus| |RNA metabolic process| |cellular response to stress| |membrane| |gene expression| </modal> \\ === CRISPR Data === <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Compound_Hit'>Compound Hit</button> <button type='default' size='small' modal='Most_Correlated_Genes'>Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Essential_Avana'>Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)</button> <modal id='Compound_Hit' size='lg' title='Compound Hit'> ^Screen^Score^ |JQ1 0.8μM R08 exp435|-2.29| |Sulforaphane 9μM R08 exp526 no dilution day6|-2.29| |Sulforaphane 9μM R08 exp525|-1.94| |Dimethyloxaloylglycine 11μM R07 exp314|-1.92| |CB-5083 0.4μM R08 exp468|-1.84| |Ammonium tetrathiomolybdate 10μM R08 exp448|-1.77| |Dexamethasone 0.006μM R07 exp351|1.75| |HMS-I1 10μM R06 exp256|1.79| |Disulfiram 4.3μM R06 exp281|1.99| |NFN1 1μM R03 exp100|2.26| </modal> <modal id='Most_Correlated_Genes' size='lg' title='Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics'> No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics. </modal> <modal id='Essential_Avana' size='lg' title='Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)'> Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 547/739 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|0/1| |909776.0|0/1| |bile duct|22/28| |blood|22/28| |bone|19/26| |breast|25/33| |central nervous system|38/56| |cervix|2/4| |colorectal|14/17| |esophagus|10/13| |fibroblast|1/1| |gastric|14/16| |kidney|9/21| |liver|16/20| |lung|56/75| |lymphocyte|13/16| |ovary|20/26| |pancreas|17/24| |peripheral nervous system|7/16| |plasma cell|10/15| |prostate|1/1| |skin|15/24| |soft tissue|7/9| |thyroid|1/2| |upper aerodigestive|21/22| |urinary tract|21/29| |uterus|4/5| </modal> == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **<color #00a2e8>Essentiality Rank</color>**: 2103 * **<color #00a2e8>Expression level (log2 read counts)</color>**: 9.01 <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Dist_expr'>Expression Distribution</button> <modal id='Dist_expr' size='lg' title='HNRNPM Expression in NALM6 Cells: 9.01'> </modal> Last modified: 2026/01/07 22:36by 127.0.0.1
