It is a potent inducer of the maturation of CD34-positive hematopoietic precursors into neutrophils. The transmembrane protein encoded by this gene (interleukin 17A receptor; IL17RA) is a ubiquitous type I membrane glycoprotein that binds with low affinity to interleukin 17A. Interleukin 17A and its receptor play a pathogenic role in many inflammatory and autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis. Like other cytokine receptors, this receptor likely has a multimeric structure. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2014]. * **<color #00a2e8>UniProt Summary</color>**: Receptor for IL17A (PubMed:17911633, PubMed:9367539). Receptor for IL17F (PubMed:19838198, PubMed:17911633). Binds to IL17A with higher affinity than to IL17F (PubMed:17911633). Binds IL17A and IL17F homodimers as part of a heterodimeric complex with IL17RC (PubMed:16785495). Also binds heterodimers formed by IL17A and IL17F as part of a heterodimeric complex with IL17RC (PubMed:18684971). Receptor for IL17C as part of a heterodimeric complex with IL17RE (PubMed:21993848). Activation of IL17RA leads to induction of expression of inflammatory chemokines and cytokines such as CXCL1, CXCL8/IL8 and IL6 (PubMed:16785495, PubMed:17911633, PubMed:18684971). {ECO:0000269|PubMed:16785495, ECO:0000269|PubMed:17911633, ECO:0000269|PubMed:18684971, ECO:0000269|PubMed:19838198, ECO:0000269|PubMed:21993848, ECO:0000269|PubMed:9367539}. <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='Pfam_Domains'>Pfam Domains</button> <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='GO_terms'>GO Terms</button> <modal id='Pfam_Domains' size='lg' title='Pfam Domains'> |SEFIR| </modal> <modal id='GO_terms' size='lg' title='GO Terms'> |fibroblast activation| |positive regulation of interleukin-23 production| |positive regulation of interleukin-13 secretion| |positive regulation of interleukin-5 secretion| |interleukin-17 receptor activity| |interleukin-17-mediated signaling pathway| |regulation of interleukin-23 production| |cellular response to interleukin-17| |regulation of interleukin-5 secretion| |response to interleukin-17| |regulation of interleukin-13 secretion| |positive regulation of interleukin-5 production| |positive regulation of interleukin-13 production| |positive regulation of cytokine production involved in inflammatory response| |regulation of interleukin-13 production| |regulation of interleukin-5 production| |defense response to fungus| |regulation of cytokine production involved in inflammatory response| |response to fungus| |granulocyte chemotaxis| |granulocyte migration| |myeloid leukocyte migration| |positive regulation of inflammatory response| |positive regulation of cytokine secretion| |leukocyte chemotaxis| |regulation of cytokine secretion| |cell chemotaxis| |positive regulation of protein secretion| |positive regulation of peptide secretion| |signaling receptor binding| |regulation of inflammatory response| |leukocyte migration| |positive regulation of secretion by cell| |positive regulation of protein transport| |positive regulation of secretion| |positive regulation of cytokine production| |positive regulation of establishment of protein localization| |regulation of protein secretion| |positive regulation of defense response| |regulation of peptide secretion| |chemotaxis| |taxis| |positive regulation of response to external stimulus| |cytokine-mediated signaling pathway| |regulation of cytokine production| |regulation of protein transport| |regulation of peptide transport| |regulation of establishment of protein localization| |regulation of secretion by cell| |regulation of defense response| |regulation of secretion| |defense response to other organism| |cell migration| |positive regulation of transport| |cellular response to cytokine stimulus| |regulation of protein localization| |cell activation| |localization of cell| |cell motility| |regulation of response to external stimulus| |response to cytokine| |response to other organism| |response to external biotic stimulus| |locomotion| |response to biotic stimulus| |defense response| |integral component of plasma membrane| |regulation of response to stress| |movement of cell or subcellular component| |positive regulation of multicellular organismal process| |regulation of transport| |extracellular region| </modal> \\ === CRISPR Data === <button type='default' size='small' modal='Compound_Hit'>Compound Hit</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Most_Correlated_Genes'>Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Essential_Avana'>Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)</button> <modal id='Compound_Hit' size='lg' title='Compound Hit'> No hits were found. </modal> <modal id='Most_Correlated_Genes' size='lg' title='Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics'> ^Gene^Correlation^ |[[:human genes:h:hgc6.3|HGC6.3]]|0.467| </modal> <modal id='Essential_Avana' size='lg' title='Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)'> Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 0/739 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|0/1| |909776.0|0/1| |bile duct|0/28| |blood|0/28| |bone|0/26| |breast|0/33| |central nervous system|0/56| |cervix|0/4| |colorectal|0/17| |esophagus|0/13| |fibroblast|0/1| |gastric|0/16| |kidney|0/21| |liver|0/20| |lung|0/75| |lymphocyte|0/16| |ovary|0/26| |pancreas|0/24| |peripheral nervous system|0/16| |plasma cell|0/15| |prostate|0/1| |skin|0/24| |soft tissue|0/9| |thyroid|0/2| |upper aerodigestive|0/22| |urinary tract|0/29| |uterus|0/5| </modal> == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **<color #00a2e8>Essentiality Rank</color>**: 8248 * **<color #00a2e8>Expression level (log2 read counts)</color>**: 6.14 <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Dist_expr'>Expression Distribution</button> <modal id='Dist_expr' size='lg' title='IL17RA Expression in NALM6 Cells: 6.14'> {{:chemogenomics:nalm6 dist.png?nolink |}} </modal> Last modified: 2026/01/07 22:36by 127.0.0.1
