Members of this family are adhesion receptors that function in signaling from the extracellular matrix to the cell. Integrins are heterodimeric integral membrane proteins composed of an alpha chain and a beta chain. The encoded protein forms a dimer with an alpha v chain and this heterodimer can bind to ligands like fibronectin and transforming growth factor beta 1. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2013]. * **<color #00a2e8>UniProt Summary</color>**: Integrin alpha-V/beta-6 is a receptor for fibronectin and cytotactin. It recognizes the sequence R-G-D in its ligands. Internalisation of integrin alpha-V/beta-6 via clathrin-mediated endocytosis promotes carcinoma cell invasion. ITGAV:ITGB6 acts as a receptor for fibrillin-1 (FBN1) and mediates R-G-D-dependent cell adhesion to FBN1 (PubMed:17158881). {ECO:0000269|PubMed:17158881, ECO:0000269|PubMed:17545607}. (Microbial infection) Integrin ITGAV:ITGB6 acts as a receptor for Herpes simplex virus-1/HHV-1 (PubMed:24367260). {ECO:0000269|PubMed:24367260}. <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='Pfam_Domains'>Pfam Domains</button> <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='GO_terms'>GO Terms</button> <modal id='Pfam_Domains' size='lg' title='Pfam Domains'> |Integrin beta| |Integrin b cyt| |Integrin B tail| </modal> <modal id='GO_terms' size='lg' title='GO Terms'> |transforming growth factor-beta secretion| |integrin alphav-beta6 complex| |regulation of transforming growth factor beta activation| |cell adhesion mediated by integrin| |integrin complex| |regulation of transforming growth factor beta production| |cytokine secretion| |virus receptor activity| |integrin-mediated signaling pathway| |viral entry into host cell| |entry into host cell| |entry into host| |cell-matrix adhesion| |integrin binding| |cytokine production| |interaction with host| |protein secretion| |establishment of protein localization to extracellular region| |protein localization to extracellular region| |peptide secretion| |cell-substrate adhesion| |viral life cycle| |signaling receptor activity| |receptor complex| |extracellular matrix organization| |extracellular structure organization| |external side of plasma membrane| |focal adhesion| |centrosome| |inflammatory response| |cell junction| |cell surface| |regulation of cytokine production| |viral process| |symbiotic process| |interspecies interaction between organisms| |cell adhesion| |biological adhesion| |cell migration| |secretion by cell| |export from cell| |cell motility| |localization of cell| |secretion| |locomotion| |defense response| |protein transport| |peptide transport| |movement of cell or subcellular component| |amide transport| |establishment of protein localization| |nitrogen compound transport| </modal> \\ === CRISPR Data === <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Compound_Hit'>Compound Hit</button> <button type='default' size='small' modal='Most_Correlated_Genes'>Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Essential_Avana'>Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)</button> <modal id='Compound_Hit' size='lg' title='Compound Hit'> ^Screen^Score^ |Campthothecin 0.001μM R06 exp270|-1.83| |Cyclosporin-A 3μM R07 exp348|-1.73| |FBS-Wisent 0.1 R07 exp426|-1.71| |THZ531 0.11 to 0.175μM on day4 R07 exp413|-1.7| |UM0125461 0.74μM R02 exp84|1.8| |LLY-284 2.6μM R06 exp291|1.82| </modal> <modal id='Most_Correlated_Genes' size='lg' title='Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics'> No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics. </modal> <modal id='Essential_Avana' size='lg' title='Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)'> Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 0/739 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|0/1| |909776.0|0/1| |bile duct|0/28| |blood|0/28| |bone|0/26| |breast|0/33| |central nervous system|0/56| |cervix|0/4| |colorectal|0/17| |esophagus|0/13| |fibroblast|0/1| |gastric|0/16| |kidney|0/21| |liver|0/20| |lung|0/75| |lymphocyte|0/16| |ovary|0/26| |pancreas|0/24| |peripheral nervous system|0/16| |plasma cell|0/15| |prostate|0/1| |skin|0/24| |soft tissue|0/9| |thyroid|0/2| |upper aerodigestive|0/22| |urinary tract|0/29| |uterus|0/5| </modal> == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **<color #00a2e8>Essentiality Rank</color>**: 18852 * **<color #00a2e8>Expression level (log2 read counts)</color>**: -2.35 <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Dist_expr'>Expression Distribution</button> <modal id='Dist_expr' size='lg' title='ITGB6 Expression in NALM6 Cells: -2.35'> </modal> Last modified: 2026/01/07 22:36by 127.0.0.1
