The encoded protein is required for kidney development. Elevated levels of this protein have been found in some breast and colorectal cancers. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2017]. * **<color #00a2e8>UniProt Summary</color>**: Essential for embryonic kidney development. Plays an important role in the compact adhesion between mesenchymal cells adjacent to the ureteric buds, possibly by interacting with MYH10. This could lead to the establishment of the basolateral integrity of the mesenchyme and the polarized expression of ITGA8, which maintains the GDNF expression required for further ureteric bud attraction. Although it seems to lack ATPase activity it is constitutively associated with microtubules (By similarity). {ECO:0000250}. <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='Pfam_Domains'>Pfam Domains</button> <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='GO_terms'>GO Terms</button> <modal id='Pfam_Domains' size='lg' title='Pfam Domains'> |Kinesin| </modal> <modal id='GO_terms' size='lg' title='GO Terms'> |ureteric bud invasion| |metanephric renal vesicle formation| |renal vesicle formation| |ureteric bud elongation| |metanephric renal vesicle morphogenesis| |renal vesicle morphogenesis| |renal vesicle development| |metanephric nephron morphogenesis| |metanephros morphogenesis| |metanephric nephron development| |ureteric bud morphogenesis| |kinesin complex| |mesonephric tubule morphogenesis| |nephron tubule morphogenesis| |nephron epithelium morphogenesis| |nephron morphogenesis| |microtubule motor activity| |renal tubule morphogenesis| |nephron tubule development| |renal tubule development| |metanephros development| |kidney morphogenesis| |ureteric bud development| |mesonephric tubule development| |mesonephric epithelium development| |mesonephros development| |nephron epithelium development| |developmental growth involved in morphogenesis| |establishment of cell polarity| |nephron development| |kidney epithelium development| |establishment or maintenance of cell polarity| |ATPase activity| |microtubule binding| |positive regulation of cell-cell adhesion| |kidney development| |microtubule-based movement| |renal system development| |epithelial tube morphogenesis| |microtubule| |urogenital system development| |developmental growth| |growth| |regulation of cell-cell adhesion| |positive regulation of cell adhesion| |morphogenesis of an epithelium| |tissue morphogenesis| |tube morphogenesis| |microtubule-based process| |regulation of cell adhesion| |tube development| |anatomical structure formation involved in morphogenesis| |animal organ morphogenesis| |epithelium development| |ATP binding| |movement of cell or subcellular component| |tissue development| </modal> \\ === CRISPR Data === <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Compound_Hit'>Compound Hit</button> <button type='default' size='small' modal='Most_Correlated_Genes'>Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Essential_Avana'>Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)</button> <modal id='Compound_Hit' size='lg' title='Compound Hit'> ^Screen^Score^ |[[:results:exp45|Docetaxel 0.002μM R01 exp45]]|-2.06| |[[:results:exp170|Metformin 100 to 150μM on day4 R04 exp170]]|1.78| </modal> <modal id='Most_Correlated_Genes' size='lg' title='Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics'> No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics. </modal> <modal id='Essential_Avana' size='lg' title='Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)'> Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 0/739 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|0/1| |909776.0|0/1| |bile duct|0/28| |blood|0/28| |bone|0/26| |breast|0/33| |central nervous system|0/56| |cervix|0/4| |colorectal|0/17| |esophagus|0/13| |fibroblast|0/1| |gastric|0/16| |kidney|0/21| |liver|0/20| |lung|0/75| |lymphocyte|0/16| |ovary|0/26| |pancreas|0/24| |peripheral nervous system|0/16| |plasma cell|0/15| |prostate|0/1| |skin|0/24| |soft tissue|0/9| |thyroid|0/2| |upper aerodigestive|0/22| |urinary tract|0/29| |uterus|0/5| </modal> == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **<color #00a2e8>Essentiality Rank</color>**: 3837 * **<color #00a2e8>Expression level (log2 read counts)</color>**: -0.18 <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Dist_expr'>Expression Distribution</button> <modal id='Dist_expr' size='lg' title='KIF26B Expression in NALM6 Cells: -0.18'> {{:chemogenomics:nalm6 dist.png?nolink |}} </modal> Last modified: 2026/01/07 22:36by 127.0.0.1
