Latrophilins may function in both cell adhesion and signal transduction. In experiments with non-human species, endogenous proteolytic cleavage within a cysteine-rich GPS (G-protein-coupled-receptor proteolysis site) domain resulted in two subunits (a large extracellular N-terminal cell adhesion subunit and a subunit with substantial similarity to the secretin/calcitonin family of GPCRs) being non-covalently bound at the cell membrane. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]. * **<color #00a2e8>UniProt Summary</color>**: Plays a role in cell-cell adhesion and neuron guidance via its interactions with FLRT2 and FLRT3 that are expressed at the surface of adjacent cells (PubMed:26235030). Plays a role in the development of glutamatergic synapses in the cortex. Important in determining the connectivity rates between the principal neurons in the cortex. {ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:Q80TS3, ECO:0000305|PubMed:26235030}. <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='Pfam_Domains'>Pfam Domains</button> <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='GO_terms'>GO Terms</button> <modal id='Pfam_Domains' size='lg' title='Pfam Domains'> |Gal Lectin| |HRM| |7tm 2| |GPS| |OLF| |DUF3497| |Latrophilin| </modal> <modal id='GO_terms' size='lg' title='GO Terms'> |locomotion involved in locomotory behavior| |response to cocaine| |positive regulation of synapse assembly| |response to anesthetic| |synapse assembly| |regulation of synapse assembly| |response to alkaloid| |neuron migration| |adenylate cyclase-activating G protein-coupled receptor signaling pathway| |cAMP-mediated signaling| |cyclic-nucleotide-mediated signaling| |cell-cell junction| |carbohydrate binding| |response to ammonium ion| |locomotory behavior| |adenylate cyclase-modulating G protein-coupled receptor signaling pathway| |regulation of synapse organization| |regulation of synapse structure or activity| |G protein-coupled receptor signaling pathway, coupled to cyclic nucleotide second messenger| |cell-cell adhesion via plasma-membrane adhesion molecules| |synapse organization| |axon| |response to xenobiotic stimulus| |second-messenger-mediated signaling| |glutamatergic synapse| |cell-cell adhesion| |positive regulation of cellular component biogenesis| |positive regulation of nervous system development| |behavior| |calcium ion binding| |G protein-coupled receptor activity| |brain development| |head development| |response to organic cyclic compound| |regulation of nervous system development| |cell adhesion| |biological adhesion| |regulation of cellular component biogenesis| |cell migration| |central nervous system development| |response to organonitrogen compound| |response to drug| |localization of cell| |cell motility| |response to nitrogen compound| |positive regulation of cellular component organization| |locomotion| |G protein-coupled receptor signaling pathway| |positive regulation of developmental process| |integral component of plasma membrane| |generation of neurons| |movement of cell or subcellular component| |response to oxygen-containing compound| |neurogenesis| |intracellular signal transduction| |positive regulation of multicellular organismal process| </modal> \\ === CRISPR Data === <button type='default' size='small' modal='Compound_Hit'>Compound Hit</button> <button type='default' size='small' modal='Most_Correlated_Genes'>Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Essential_Avana'>Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)</button> <modal id='Compound_Hit' size='lg' title='Compound Hit'> No hits were found. </modal> <modal id='Most_Correlated_Genes' size='lg' title='Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics'> No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics. </modal> <modal id='Essential_Avana' size='lg' title='Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)'> Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 0/739 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|0/1| |909776.0|0/1| |bile duct|0/28| |blood|0/28| |bone|0/26| |breast|0/33| |central nervous system|0/56| |cervix|0/4| |colorectal|0/17| |esophagus|0/13| |fibroblast|0/1| |gastric|0/16| |kidney|0/21| |liver|0/20| |lung|0/75| |lymphocyte|0/16| |ovary|0/26| |pancreas|0/24| |peripheral nervous system|0/16| |plasma cell|0/15| |prostate|0/1| |skin|0/24| |soft tissue|0/9| |thyroid|0/2| |upper aerodigestive|0/22| |urinary tract|0/29| |uterus|0/5| </modal> == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **<color #00a2e8>Essentiality Rank</color>**: 14992 * **<color #00a2e8>Expression level (log2 read counts)</color>**: -1.95 <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Dist_expr'>Expression Distribution</button> <modal id='Dist_expr' size='lg' title='LPHN3 Expression in NALM6 Cells: -1.95'> {{:chemogenomics:nalm6 dist.png?nolink |}} </modal> Last modified: 2026/01/07 22:36by 127.0.0.1
