The H/ACA snoRNPs also include the DKC1, NOLA1 and NOLA3 proteins. These four H/ACA snoRNP proteins localize to the dense fibrillar components of nucleoli and to coiled (Cajal) bodies in the nucleus. Both 18S rRNA production and rRNA pseudouridylation are impaired if any one of the four proteins is depleted. The four H/ACA snoRNP proteins are also components of the telomerase complex. This gene encodes a protein related to Saccharomyces cerevisiae Nhp2p. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2008]. * **<color #00a2e8>UniProt Summary</color>**: Required for ribosome biogenesis and telomere maintenance. Part of the H/ACA small nucleolar ribonucleoprotein (H/ACA snoRNP) complex, which catalyzes pseudouridylation of rRNA. This involves the isomerization of uridine such that the ribose is subsequently attached to C5, instead of the normal N1. Each rRNA can contain up to 100 pseudouridine ("psi") residues, which may serve to stabilize the conformation of rRNAs. May also be required for correct processing or intranuclear trafficking of TERC, the RNA component of the telomerase reverse transcriptase (TERT) holoenzyme. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:15044956}. <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='Pfam_Domains'>Pfam Domains</button> <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='GO_terms'>GO Terms</button> <modal id='Pfam_Domains' size='lg' title='Pfam Domains'> |Ribosomal L7Ae| </modal> <modal id='GO_terms' size='lg' title='GO Terms'> |snRNA pseudouridine synthesis| |box H/ACA telomerase RNP complex| |box H/ACA scaRNP complex| |snRNA modification| |box H/ACA snoRNA binding| |box H/ACA snoRNP complex| |rRNA pseudouridine synthesis| |small nucleolar ribonucleoprotein complex| |positive regulation of telomerase RNA localization to Cajal body| |pseudouridine synthesis| |regulation of telomerase RNA localization to Cajal body| |telomerase holoenzyme complex| |maturation of LSU-rRNA| |telomerase RNA binding| |cleavage involved in rRNA processing| |telomere maintenance via telomerase| |telomere maintenance via telomere lengthening| |RNA-dependent DNA biosynthetic process| |rRNA modification| |snRNA metabolic process| |ribosomal large subunit biogenesis| |telomere maintenance| |telomere organization| |DNA biosynthetic process| |nuclear chromosome, telomeric region| |RNA phosphodiester bond hydrolysis| |RNA modification| |rRNA processing| |rRNA metabolic process| |nucleic acid phosphodiester bond hydrolysis| |ribosome biogenesis| |anatomical structure homeostasis| |ncRNA processing| |ribonucleoprotein complex biogenesis| |ncRNA metabolic process| |DNA metabolic process| |RNA processing| |chromosome organization| |nucleobase-containing compound biosynthetic process| |heterocycle biosynthetic process| |aromatic compound biosynthetic process| |organic cyclic compound biosynthetic process| |RNA binding| |cellular nitrogen compound biosynthetic process| |homeostatic process| |RNA metabolic process| |cellular macromolecule biosynthetic process| |macromolecule biosynthetic process| |gene expression| </modal> \\ === CRISPR Data === <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Compound_Hit'>Compound Hit</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Most_Correlated_Genes'>Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Essential_Avana'>Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)</button> <modal id='Compound_Hit' size='lg' title='Compound Hit'> ^Screen^Score^ |2-Methoxyestradiol 0.55 to 1μM on day4 R07 exp312|-1.86| </modal> <modal id='Most_Correlated_Genes' size='lg' title='Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics'> ^Gene^Correlation^ |RPP21|0.464| |TEN1|0.413| |GEMIN5|0.401| |MSTO1|0.4| </modal> <modal id='Essential_Avana' size='lg' title='Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)'> Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 245/739 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|0/1| |909776.0|0/1| |bile duct|10/28| |blood|9/28| |bone|8/26| |breast|6/33| |central nervous system|29/56| |cervix|2/4| |colorectal|8/17| |esophagus|4/13| |fibroblast|0/1| |gastric|6/16| |kidney|8/21| |liver|6/20| |lung|16/75| |lymphocyte|2/16| |ovary|10/26| |pancreas|3/24| |peripheral nervous system|9/16| |plasma cell|5/15| |prostate|0/1| |skin|10/24| |soft tissue|3/9| |thyroid|1/2| |upper aerodigestive|9/22| |urinary tract|15/29| |uterus|1/5| </modal> == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **<color #00a2e8>Essentiality Rank</color>**: 609 * **<color #00a2e8>Expression level (log2 read counts)</color>**: 6.37 <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Dist_expr'>Expression Distribution</button> <modal id='Dist_expr' size='lg' title='NHP2 Expression in NALM6 Cells: 6.37'> </modal> Last modified: 2026/01/07 22:36by 127.0.0.1
