The encoded protein is developmentally regulated and may be involved in renal epithelial morphogenesis. This protein may also be involved in macrophage and granulocyte maturation. Abnormal recombination between this gene and a related pseudogene on chromosome Y is a frequent cause of sex reversal disorder in XX males and XY females. Pseudogenes of this gene are found on chromosomes X, 15 and Y. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2010]. * **<color #00a2e8>UniProt Summary</color>**: Serine/threonine protein kinase regulated by and mediating cAMP signaling in cells. Acts through phosphorylation of downstream targets that may include CREB, SMAD6 and PKD1 and has multiple functions in cellular differentiation and epithelial morphogenesis. Regulates myeloid cell differentiation through SMAD6 phosphorylation. Involved in nephrogenesis by stimulating renal epithelial cell migration and tubulogenesis. Also involved in angiogenesis through stimulation of endothelial cell proliferation, migration and vascular-like structure formation. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:12082174, ECO:0000269|PubMed:16236808, ECO:0000269|PubMed:16491121, ECO:0000269|PubMed:17980165, ECO:0000269|PubMed:19367327, ECO:0000269|PubMed:21684272, ECO:0000269|PubMed:9860982}. <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='Pfam_Domains'>Pfam Domains</button> <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='GO_terms'>GO Terms</button> <modal id='Pfam_Domains' size='lg' title='Pfam Domains'> |Pkinase Tyr| |Pkinase| </modal> <modal id='GO_terms' size='lg' title='GO Terms'> |cAMP-dependent protein kinase activity| |cAMP-dependent protein kinase complex| |regulation of epithelial cell differentiation involved in kidney development| |endothelial cell proliferation| |regulation of kidney development| |endothelial cell migration| |epithelial cell migration| |kidney morphogenesis| |epithelial cell proliferation| |epithelium migration| |tissue migration| |regulation of epithelial cell differentiation| |ameboidal-type cell migration| |peptidyl-serine phosphorylation| |cell-substrate adhesion| |protein autophosphorylation| |peptidyl-serine modification| |myeloid cell differentiation| |kidney development| |renal system development| |epithelial tube morphogenesis| |angiogenesis| |urogenital system development| |blood vessel morphogenesis| |morphogenesis of an epithelium| |blood vessel development| |vasculature development| |cardiovascular system development| |cell population proliferation| |hemopoiesis| |tissue morphogenesis| |hematopoietic or lymphoid organ development| |immune system development| |tube morphogenesis| |regulation of cell adhesion| |tube development| |regulation of cell migration| |circulatory system development| |peptidyl-amino acid modification| |anatomical structure formation involved in morphogenesis| |regulation of cell motility| |cell adhesion| |biological adhesion| |animal organ morphogenesis| |cell migration| |protein phosphorylation| |regulation of locomotion| |regulation of cellular component movement| |localization of cell| |cell motility| |epithelium development| |phosphorylation| |locomotion| |ATP binding| |movement of cell or subcellular component| |tissue development| |regulation of cell differentiation| </modal> \\ === CRISPR Data === <button type='default' size='small' modal='Compound_Hit'>Compound Hit</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Most_Correlated_Genes'>Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Essential_Avana'>Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)</button> <modal id='Compound_Hit' size='lg' title='Compound Hit'> No hits were found. </modal> <modal id='Most_Correlated_Genes' size='lg' title='Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics'> ^Gene^Correlation^ |[[:human genes:p:polr2j3|POLR2J3]]|0.434| </modal> <modal id='Essential_Avana' size='lg' title='Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)'> Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 0/694 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|0/1| |909776.0|0/1| |bile duct|0/28| |blood|0/26| |bone|0/26| |breast|0/30| |central nervous system|0/49| |cervix|0/4| |colorectal|0/17| |esophagus|0/11| |fibroblast|0/1| |gastric|0/14| |kidney|0/18| |liver|0/19| |lung|0/72| |lymphocyte|0/16| |ovary|0/25| |pancreas|0/22| |peripheral nervous system|0/15| |plasma cell|0/12| |prostate|0/1| |skin|0/20| |soft tissue|0/9| |thyroid|0/2| |upper aerodigestive|0/22| |urinary tract|0/28| |uterus|0/5| </modal> == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **<color #00a2e8>Essentiality Rank</color>**: 16963 * **<color #00a2e8>Expression level (log2 read counts)</color>**: 7.18 <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Dist_expr'>Expression Distribution</button> <modal id='Dist_expr' size='lg' title='PRKX Expression in NALM6 Cells: 7.18'> {{:chemogenomics:nalm6 dist.png?nolink |}} </modal> Last modified: 2026/01/07 22:36by 127.0.0.1
