PTPs are known to be signaling molecules that regulate a variety of cellular processes including cell growth, differentiation, mitotic cycle, and oncogenic transformation. This protein contains a C-terminal PTP domain and an N-terminal domain homologous to the band 4.1 superfamily of cytoskeletal-associated proteins. P97, a cell cycle regulator involved in a variety of membrane related functions, has been shown to be a substrate of this PTP. This PTP was also found to interact with, and be regulated by adaptor protein 14-3-3 beta. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2009]. * **<color #00a2e8>UniProt Summary</color>**: May act at junctions between the membrane and the cytoskeleton. Possesses tyrosine phosphatase activity. <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='Pfam_Domains'>Pfam Domains</button> <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='GO_terms'>GO Terms</button> <modal id='Pfam_Domains' size='lg' title='Pfam Domains'> |FERM N| |FERM M| |Y phosphatase| |DSPc| |PDZ| |FERM C| </modal> <modal id='GO_terms' size='lg' title='GO Terms'> |regulation of membrane depolarization during action potential| |negative regulation of membrane protein ectodomain proteolysis| |regulation of membrane protein ectodomain proteolysis| |liver regeneration| |sodium channel regulator activity| |phosphotyrosine residue binding| |regulation of membrane depolarization| |negative regulation of epidermal growth factor receptor signaling pathway| |regulation of action potential| |negative regulation of ERBB signaling pathway| |cytoplasmic side of plasma membrane| |regulation of sodium ion transmembrane transporter activity| |regulation of sodium ion transmembrane transport| |animal organ regeneration| |cytoskeletal protein binding| |ATPase binding| |regulation of epidermal growth factor receptor signaling pathway| |regulation of sodium ion transport| |regulation of ERBB signaling pathway| |protein tyrosine phosphatase activity| |peptidyl-tyrosine dephosphorylation| |liver development| |hepaticobiliary system development| |negative regulation of protein catabolic process| |regeneration| |protein dephosphorylation| |negative regulation of cellular catabolic process| |regulation of ion transmembrane transporter activity| |regulation of transmembrane transporter activity| |regulation of transporter activity| |negative regulation of mitotic cell cycle| |dephosphorylation| |negative regulation of catabolic process| |regulation of cation transmembrane transport| |negative regulation of proteolysis| |cytoskeleton| |regulation of protein catabolic process| |regulation of metal ion transport| |gland development| |regulation of membrane potential| |regulation of ion transmembrane transport| |regulation of transmembrane transport| |negative regulation of cell cycle| |regulation of mitotic cell cycle| |regulation of ion transport| |regulation of proteolysis| |ion homeostasis| |regulation of cellular catabolic process| |regulation of catabolic process| |negative regulation of cellular protein metabolic process| |negative regulation of protein metabolic process| |chemical homeostasis| |regulation of cell cycle| |negative regulation of signal transduction| |negative regulation of cell communication| |negative regulation of signaling| |negative regulation of response to stimulus| |homeostatic process| |regulation of transport| </modal> \\ === CRISPR Data === <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Compound_Hit'>Compound Hit</button> <button type='default' size='small' modal='Most_Correlated_Genes'>Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Essential_Avana'>Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)</button> <modal id='Compound_Hit' size='lg' title='Compound Hit'> ^Screen^Score^ |[[:results:exp418|Tunicamycin 0.04μM R07 exp418]]|-1.9| |[[:results:exp261|ABT-702 5μM R06 exp261]]|1.71| </modal> <modal id='Most_Correlated_Genes' size='lg' title='Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics'> No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics. </modal> <modal id='Essential_Avana' size='lg' title='Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)'> Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 1/739 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|0/1| |909776.0|0/1| |bile duct|0/28| |blood|0/28| |bone|0/26| |breast|0/33| |central nervous system|0/56| |cervix|0/4| |colorectal|0/17| |esophagus|0/13| |fibroblast|0/1| |gastric|0/16| |kidney|0/21| |liver|0/20| |lung|0/75| |lymphocyte|0/16| |ovary|0/26| |pancreas|0/24| |peripheral nervous system|1/16| |plasma cell|0/15| |prostate|0/1| |skin|0/24| |soft tissue|0/9| |thyroid|0/2| |upper aerodigestive|0/22| |urinary tract|0/29| |uterus|0/5| </modal> == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **<color #00a2e8>Essentiality Rank</color>**: 12744 * **<color #00a2e8>Expression level (log2 read counts)</color>**: 3.0 <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Dist_expr'>Expression Distribution</button> <modal id='Dist_expr' size='lg' title='PTPN3 Expression in NALM6 Cells: 3.0'> {{:chemogenomics:nalm6 dist.png?nolink |}} </modal> Last modified: 2026/01/07 22:36by 127.0.0.1
