Rabs cycle between an inactive GDP-bound form and an active GTP-bound form that is able to recruit to membranes different set of downstream effectors directly responsible for vesicle formation, movement, tethering and fusion. That Rab is involved in transcytosis, the directed movement of endocytosed material through the cell and its exocytosis from the plasma membrane at the opposite side. Mainly observed in epithelial cells, transcytosis mediates for instance, the transcellular transport of immunoglobulins from the basolateral surface to the apical surface. Most probably controls membrane trafficking through apical recycling endosomes in a post- endocytic step of transcytosis. Required for melanosome transport and release from melanocytes, it also regulates dendrite and dendritic spine development (By similarity). May also play a role in cell migration. {ECO:0000250, ECO:0000269|PubMed:22328529}. <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='Pfam_Domains'>Pfam Domains</button> <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='GO_terms'>GO Terms</button> <modal id='Pfam_Domains' size='lg' title='Pfam Domains'> |Ras| |Arf| |Miro| </modal> <modal id='GO_terms' size='lg' title='GO Terms'> |immunoglobulin transcytosis in epithelial cells mediated by polymeric immunoglobulin receptor| |immune response in mucosal-associated lymphoid tissue| |immunoglobulin transcytosis in epithelial cells| |filopodium assembly| |transcytosis| |melanosome transport| |establishment of melanosome localization| |pigment granule transport| |establishment of pigment granule localization| |melanosome localization| |pigment granule localization| |mucosal immune response| |organ or tissue specific immune response| |endocytic recycling| |regulation of filopodium assembly| |cellular pigmentation| |endocytic vesicle| |Rab protein signal transduction| |GDP binding| |recycling endosome membrane| |intracellular| |pigmentation| |melanosome| |regulation of synapse assembly| |recycling endosome| |regulation of dendrite development| |establishment of vesicle localization| |vesicle localization| |basolateral plasma membrane| |regulation of plasma membrane bounded cell projection assembly| |regulation of cell projection assembly| |regulation of endocytosis| |regulation of synapse organization| |regulation of synapse structure or activity| |endosomal transport| |Ras protein signal transduction| |early endosome| |endosome| |apical plasma membrane| |small GTPase mediated signal transduction| |GTPase activity| |cilium assembly| |establishment of organelle localization| |cilium organization| |neuronal cell body| |GTP binding| |dendrite| |plasma membrane bounded cell projection assembly| |cell projection assembly| |regulation of neuron projection development| |regulation of vesicle-mediated transport| |organelle localization| |regulation of neuron differentiation| |regulation of plasma membrane bounded cell projection organization| |regulation of cell projection organization| |organelle assembly| |regulation of neurogenesis| |regulation of nervous system development| |regulation of cell development| |regulation of cellular component biogenesis| |intracellular protein transport| |plasma membrane bounded cell projection organization| |cell projection organization| |protein transport| |intracellular transport| |generation of neurons| |peptide transport| |amide transport| |cellular protein localization| |cellular macromolecule localization| |establishment of protein localization| |neurogenesis| |intracellular signal transduction| |regulation of cell differentiation| |establishment of localization in cell| |nitrogen compound transport| |regulation of transport| |immune response| |vesicle-mediated transport| </modal> \\ === CRISPR Data === <button type='default' size='small' modal='Compound_Hit'>Compound Hit</button> <button type='default' size='small' modal='Most_Correlated_Genes'>Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Essential_Avana'>Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)</button> <modal id='Compound_Hit' size='lg' title='Compound Hit'> No hits were found. </modal> <modal id='Most_Correlated_Genes' size='lg' title='Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics'> No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics. </modal> <modal id='Essential_Avana' size='lg' title='Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)'> Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 0/739 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|0/1| |909776.0|0/1| |bile duct|0/28| |blood|0/28| |bone|0/26| |breast|0/33| |central nervous system|0/56| |cervix|0/4| |colorectal|0/17| |esophagus|0/13| |fibroblast|0/1| |gastric|0/16| |kidney|0/21| |liver|0/20| |lung|0/75| |lymphocyte|0/16| |ovary|0/26| |pancreas|0/24| |peripheral nervous system|0/16| |plasma cell|0/15| |prostate|0/1| |skin|0/24| |soft tissue|0/9| |thyroid|0/2| |upper aerodigestive|0/22| |urinary tract|0/29| |uterus|0/5| </modal> == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **<color #00a2e8>Essentiality Rank</color>**: 5734 * **<color #00a2e8>Expression level (log2 read counts)</color>**: 2.11 <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Dist_expr'>Expression Distribution</button> <modal id='Dist_expr' size='lg' title='RAB17 Expression in NALM6 Cells: 2.11'> {{:chemogenomics:nalm6 dist.png?nolink |}} </modal> Last modified: 2026/01/07 22:36by 127.0.0.1
