The enzyme hormone is secreted by the kidney, and circulates in blood and modulates cardiac function and systemic blood pressure. Lowers blood pressure in vivo by decreasing cardiac contractility and heart rate and preventing a compensatory increase in peripheral vascular tone, suggesting a causal link to the increased plasma catecholamine and heightened cardiovascular risk. High concentrations of catecholamines activate plasma renalase and promotes its secretion and synthesis. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:15841207, ECO:0000269|PubMed:17385068, ECO:0000269|PubMed:25531177}. <button type='default' size='sm' modal='Pfam_Domains'>Pfam Domains</button> <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='GO_terms'>GO Terms</button> <modal id='Pfam_Domains' size='lg' title='Pfam Domains'> No Pfam Domain information is available for this gene. </modal> <modal id='GO_terms' size='lg' title='GO Terms'> |monoamine oxidase activity| |NADH binding| |oxidoreductase activity, acting on NAD(P)H| |epinephrine binding| |negative regulation of heart rate| |NAD biosynthesis via nicotinamide riboside salvage pathway| |response to epinephrine| |response to salt| |negative regulation of heart contraction| |NAD biosynthetic process| |nicotinamide nucleotide biosynthetic process| |pyridine nucleotide biosynthetic process| |negative regulation of blood circulation| |nicotinamide nucleotide metabolic process| |pyridine nucleotide metabolic process| |pyridine-containing compound biosynthetic process| |pyridine-containing compound metabolic process| |negative regulation of blood pressure| |response to ischemia| |oxidoreduction coenzyme metabolic process| |regulation of heart rate| |response to catecholamine| |response to monoamine| |coenzyme biosynthetic process| |regulation of blood pressure| |cofactor biosynthetic process| |regulation of heart contraction| |nucleotide biosynthetic process| |nucleoside phosphate biosynthetic process| |coenzyme metabolic process| |regulation of blood circulation| |blood circulation| |circulatory system process| |cofactor metabolic process| |nucleotide metabolic process| |nucleoside phosphate metabolic process| |organophosphate biosynthetic process| |nucleobase-containing small molecule metabolic process| |regulation of system process| |organophosphate metabolic process| |response to organic cyclic compound| |oxidation-reduction process| |response to organonitrogen compound| |response to nitrogen compound| |nucleobase-containing compound biosynthetic process| |heterocycle biosynthetic process| |aromatic compound biosynthetic process| |negative regulation of multicellular organismal process| |organic cyclic compound biosynthetic process| |organonitrogen compound biosynthetic process| |response to oxygen-containing compound| |extracellular space| |cellular nitrogen compound biosynthetic process| |small molecule metabolic process| |extracellular region| |system process| </modal> \\ === CRISPR Data === <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Compound_Hit'>Compound Hit</button> <button type='default' size='small' modal='Most_Correlated_Genes'>Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Essential_Avana'>Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)</button> <modal id='Compound_Hit' size='lg' title='Compound Hit'> ^Screen^Score^ |[[:results:exp471|Cholesterol 0.003 to 0.006 to 0.1μM on day2 then day6 R08 exp471]]|-1.77| </modal> <modal id='Most_Correlated_Genes' size='lg' title='Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics'> No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics. </modal> <modal id='Essential_Avana' size='lg' title='Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)'> Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 0/739 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|0/1| |909776.0|0/1| |bile duct|0/28| |blood|0/28| |bone|0/26| |breast|0/33| |central nervous system|0/56| |cervix|0/4| |colorectal|0/17| |esophagus|0/13| |fibroblast|0/1| |gastric|0/16| |kidney|0/21| |liver|0/20| |lung|0/75| |lymphocyte|0/16| |ovary|0/26| |pancreas|0/24| |peripheral nervous system|0/16| |plasma cell|0/15| |prostate|0/1| |skin|0/24| |soft tissue|0/9| |thyroid|0/2| |upper aerodigestive|0/22| |urinary tract|0/29| |uterus|0/5| </modal> == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **<color #00a2e8>Essentiality Rank</color>**: 16408 * **<color #00a2e8>Expression level (log2 read counts)</color>**: 1.75 <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Dist_expr'>Expression Distribution</button> <modal id='Dist_expr' size='lg' title='RNLS Expression in NALM6 Cells: 1.75'> {{:chemogenomics:nalm6 dist.png?nolink |}} </modal> Last modified: 2026/01/07 22:36by 127.0.0.1
