This heterotetrameric enzyme catalyzes the conversion of ribonucleoside diphosphates to deoxyribonucleoside diphosphates. The product of this reaction is necessary for DNA synthesis. Mutations in this gene have been associated with autosomal recessive mitochondrial DNA depletion syndrome, autosomal dominant progressive external ophthalmoplegia-5, and mitochondrial neurogastrointestinal encephalopathy. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described.[provided by RefSeq, Feb 2010]. * **<color #00a2e8>UniProt Summary</color>**: N/A <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='Pfam_Domains'>Pfam Domains</button> <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='GO_terms'>GO Terms</button> <modal id='Pfam_Domains' size='lg' title='Pfam Domains'> |Ribonuc red sm| </modal> <modal id='GO_terms' size='lg' title='GO Terms'> |ribonucleoside-diphosphate reductase activity, thioredoxin disulfide as acceptor| |mitochondrial DNA replication| |deoxyribonucleotide biosynthetic process| |deoxyribonucleoside triphosphate metabolic process| |negative regulation of intrinsic apoptotic signaling pathway by p53 class mediator| |nucleobase-containing small molecule interconversion| |regulation of intrinsic apoptotic signaling pathway by p53 class mediator| |negative regulation of signal transduction by p53 class mediator| |deoxyribonucleotide metabolic process| |response to amine| |nucleoside triphosphate metabolic process| |negative regulation of intrinsic apoptotic signaling pathway| |renal system process| |DNA-dependent DNA replication| |regulation of intrinsic apoptotic signaling pathway| |regulation of signal transduction by p53 class mediator| |DNA replication| |negative regulation of apoptotic signaling pathway| |nucleotide biosynthetic process| |nucleoside phosphate biosynthetic process| |kidney development| |renal system development| |urogenital system development| |response to oxidative stress| |regulation of apoptotic signaling pathway| |nucleotide metabolic process| |nucleoside phosphate metabolic process| |negative regulation of intracellular signal transduction| |DNA repair| |organophosphate biosynthetic process| |nucleobase-containing small molecule metabolic process| |carbohydrate derivative biosynthetic process| |DNA metabolic process| |cellular response to DNA damage stimulus| |organophosphate metabolic process| |negative regulation of apoptotic process| |negative regulation of programmed cell death| |oxidation-reduction process| |negative regulation of cell death| |response to organonitrogen compound| |carbohydrate derivative metabolic process| |response to nitrogen compound| |nucleobase-containing compound biosynthetic process| |heterocycle biosynthetic process| |aromatic compound biosynthetic process| |mitochondrion| |negative regulation of signal transduction| |organic cyclic compound biosynthetic process| |negative regulation of cell communication| |negative regulation of signaling| |regulation of apoptotic process| |regulation of programmed cell death| |negative regulation of response to stimulus| |cellular nitrogen compound biosynthetic process| |regulation of cell death| |cellular response to stress| |cellular macromolecule biosynthetic process| |small molecule metabolic process| |macromolecule biosynthetic process| |regulation of intracellular signal transduction| |system process| </modal> \\ === CRISPR Data === <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Compound_Hit'>Compound Hit</button> <button type='default' size='small' modal='Most_Correlated_Genes'>Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Essential_Avana'>Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)</button> <modal id='Compound_Hit' size='lg' title='Compound Hit'> ^Screen^Score^ |Dorsomorphin 5μM R07 exp357|-2.46| |Palbociclib 1μM R07 exp382|-2.03| |Milciclib 2μM R08 exp502|-1.87| </modal> <modal id='Most_Correlated_Genes' size='lg' title='Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics'> No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics. </modal> <modal id='Essential_Avana' size='lg' title='Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)'> Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 0/739 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|0/1| |909776.0|0/1| |bile duct|0/28| |blood|0/28| |bone|0/26| |breast|0/33| |central nervous system|0/56| |cervix|0/4| |colorectal|0/17| |esophagus|0/13| |fibroblast|0/1| |gastric|0/16| |kidney|0/21| |liver|0/20| |lung|0/75| |lymphocyte|0/16| |ovary|0/26| |pancreas|0/24| |peripheral nervous system|0/16| |plasma cell|0/15| |prostate|0/1| |skin|0/24| |soft tissue|0/9| |thyroid|0/2| |upper aerodigestive|0/22| |urinary tract|0/29| |uterus|0/5| </modal> == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **<color #00a2e8>Essentiality Rank</color>**: 12137 * **<color #00a2e8>Expression level (log2 read counts)</color>**: 4.53 <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Dist_expr'>Expression Distribution</button> <modal id='Dist_expr' size='lg' title='RRM2B Expression in NALM6 Cells: 4.53'> </modal> Last modified: 2026/01/07 22:36by 127.0.0.1
