The product of this gene functions as a gated pore that translocates ADP from the cytoplasm into the mitochondrial matrix and ATP from the mitochondrial matrix into the cytoplasm. The protein is implicated in the function of the permability transition pore complex (PTPC), which regulates the release of mitochondrial products that induce apoptosis. The human genome contains several non-transcribed pseudogenes of this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2013]. * **<color #00a2e8>UniProt Summary</color>**: Catalyzes the exchange of cytoplasmic ADP with mitochondrial ATP across the mitochondrial inner membrane. May participate in the formation of the permeability transition pore complex (PTPC) responsible for the release of mitochondrial products that triggers apoptosis. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:15033708}. <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='Pfam_Domains'>Pfam Domains</button> <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='GO_terms'>GO Terms</button> <modal id='Pfam_Domains' size='lg' title='Pfam Domains'> |Mito carr| </modal> <modal id='GO_terms' size='lg' title='GO Terms'> |ATP:ADP antiporter activity| |ADP transport| |TIM23 mitochondrial import inner membrane translocase complex| |ATP transport| |adenine nucleotide transport| |purine ribonucleotide transport| |purine nucleotide transport| |nucleotide transport| |protein targeting to mitochondrion| |establishment of protein localization to mitochondrion| |carbohydrate derivative transport| |protein localization to mitochondrion| |organophosphate ester transport| |drug transport| |regulation of insulin secretion| |regulation of peptide hormone secretion| |mitochondrial transport| |nucleobase-containing compound transport| |regulation of hormone secretion| |protein targeting| |mitochondrial inner membrane| |establishment of protein localization to organelle| |mitochondrion organization| |organic anion transport| |regulation of protein secretion| |regulation of peptide secretion| |regulation of hormone levels| |anion transport| |viral process| |regulation of protein transport| |protein localization to organelle| |regulation of peptide transport| |regulation of establishment of protein localization| |regulation of secretion by cell| |symbiotic process| |regulation of secretion| |interspecies interaction between organisms| |apoptotic process| |intracellular protein transport| |response to drug| |regulation of protein localization| |programmed cell death| |cell death| |mitochondrion| |transmembrane transport| |ion transport| |protein transport| |intracellular transport| |peptide transport| |amide transport| |cellular protein localization| |cellular macromolecule localization| |establishment of protein localization| |establishment of localization in cell| |nitrogen compound transport| |regulation of transport| </modal> \\ === CRISPR Data === <button type='default' size='small' modal='Compound_Hit'>Compound Hit</button> <button type='default' size='small' modal='Most_Correlated_Genes'>Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Essential_Avana'>Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)</button> <modal id='Compound_Hit' size='lg' title='Compound Hit'> No hits were found. </modal> <modal id='Most_Correlated_Genes' size='lg' title='Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics'> No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics. </modal> <modal id='Essential_Avana' size='lg' title='Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)'> Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 0/694 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|0/1| |909776.0|0/1| |bile duct|0/28| |blood|0/26| |bone|0/26| |breast|0/30| |central nervous system|0/49| |cervix|0/4| |colorectal|0/17| |esophagus|0/11| |fibroblast|0/1| |gastric|0/14| |kidney|0/18| |liver|0/19| |lung|0/72| |lymphocyte|0/16| |ovary|0/25| |pancreas|0/22| |peripheral nervous system|0/15| |plasma cell|0/12| |prostate|0/1| |skin|0/20| |soft tissue|0/9| |thyroid|0/2| |upper aerodigestive|0/22| |urinary tract|0/28| |uterus|0/5| </modal> == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **<color #00a2e8>Essentiality Rank</color>**: 16503 * **<color #00a2e8>Expression level (log2 read counts)</color>**: 7.96 <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Dist_expr'>Expression Distribution</button> <modal id='Dist_expr' size='lg' title='SLC25A6 Expression in NALM6 Cells: 7.96'> {{:chemogenomics:nalm6 dist.png?nolink |}} </modal> Last modified: 2026/01/07 22:37by 127.0.0.1
